Embarrassed Myself

Tonight I had a 90 minuted class at Orangetheory Fitness and it was very rowing heavy. I like the long classes and enjoy rowing. But tonight, it the last 10 minutes low blood sugar reared it's ugly head. I told the instructor I was going to stay in the green/blue and try to tough it out since we were so close to the end. All I did was walk on the treadmill at a minor incline and then it was time for core exercises on the floor. Well, I made it to the end and couldn't get off the floor. Sigh. My rowing partner helped me sit up and get on a bench. While everyone else around me was stretching I was attacking the Nature Valley bar they brought me like a starving wolf. The shakes subsided pretty quick but then I was so cold I couldn't get into my heavy fleece fast enough.
So yes, that was embarrassing.
So yes, that was embarrassing.

Not to worry a lot of us do something like that at some point, embarrassment passes.
Heck, I was in a Zumba class, started feeling a little dizzy, next thing you know one of the women was rushing over and caught me just As I was keeling over.
She said she saw my face go suddenly pale in the mirror.
I had some water and sat the rest of the class out.
It was Christmas time and that was the night we were having a pub grub celebration. I made it to that ok.
I was embarrassed at first, but got over it, everyone was so caring.
Cheers, h.13 -
I embarrass myself on a regular basis at my gym. When I first started, I would get shown up by the old people and kids on a regular basis. It made me learn real quickly to not have any pride at the gym. Since then I've made progress, and don't get embarrassed *as much* anymore.17

You think THAT was embarrassing? Please.....I was on the Ellipitical trainer when a beautiful girl got on the one next to me...trying to be smooth I said " Hey How are you, looki."....thats as far as I got because I slipped, lost my footing and crashed hard on my face......the worst part? My lovely wannabe girlfriend said"DONT MOVE MY HUSBANDS A DOCTOR LET ME GO GET HIM"!! I now hate gyms and doctors, but maybe not in that order.....56

Embarrassing? I could not move! I had a wide audience. I was parched. I was tired. We'd not even started our workout proper, yet.
Night after night, following what has been my usual, after sprint-drills and ball control drills (PM routines for the moment), I can barely stand up from the ground, if I choose to sit and hydrate, which I did just once. Big mistake. We'd had a racquet club party in one of the closest tennis courts and beyond the initial shame, I couldn't stop laughing, for it was that horrifying ... My body was completely depleted of strength and anything else. This account, was sometime last week, when we were hit with 90 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures this Autumn Season and everything, I mean every muscle in my body felt like it had to work that much harder. Already, the location calls for the usual high altitude in desert country climes, so our extremes are draining if one's maintenance is lacking. On this particular day ... Even the run home was mortifying, for it's located higher than where I usually workout outdoors; After one incline, another, further up. My sloshed icy drink was not enough!2 -
Fueling strategy is a matter of trial and error for petty much everybody. You'd be hard pressed to find any runner who hasn't bonked at some time or another. Consider it a learning experience and adjust your pre-workout nutrition accordingly.8

If it makes you feel any better, the other day a guy at my gym let out a loud long fart while deadlifting (I go to a small gym). You're good in terms of embarrassment.14 -
I hit my forehead on the end of a barbell between sets of bench press after picking something off the floor and bled everywhere. So much blood.14

I've been close to passing out after doing heavy squats but managed to get to the mats and lie down without looking weird.michael1976_ca wrote: »That's not that bad

I have done this so many times, no blood yet tho I'll have to try harder.
I've been on a treadmill early in the morning and gotten a very sudden indication that I've accidentally eaten something with gluten in it the day before. Made it off the treadmill and waddled down the stairs to the bathroom in time so I didn't embarrass myself in front of the whole gym, just the ladies in the bathrooms who had to experience the aftermath. I was in there for a full 15 minutes and it was very obvious what was going on. Mortified.19 -
I have found myself stumbling around like a drunk from either pushing too hard in sessions too close together and/or not being properly hydrated. Disappointed? Yeah. Embarrassed? No. I was working my butt off and it just turned out my butt was a little low on fuel that day. I am not an elite athlete, just someone who tries not to cave in to excuses too readily. It happens.6

Okay, you win! Hugs!5 -
We all do embarrassing things, as these posts show. I’m happy to hear you’re ok! And hope you keep going to that class (without almost fainting, of course).
My most embarrassing moment (of late) was joining my husband’s running group one night. They run through a wildlife refuge in the summer, and I was joining them because they were taking it “slowly” that night. You know, slow as in 9 minutes miles, which is my dream regular pace, forget a slow pace. But I was keeping up with them and was so proud of myself and talking to one of the runners about my half marathon training and how well it was going when I tripped over a root and face planted, knees and hands all bloodied up. They were so nice about it, but I felt like such an idiot!11 -
not at the gym, but i was running with my dog. and i tripped on the edge of the sidewalk and fell full somersault.
in front of a crowded patio, full of brunchers.
so embarassing, but i rolled to my feet and kept going taking my red face and bloody palms out of view10 -

Not embarrassing to be using so much power there's none left over for even the tiniest sphincter, that's goals lol11 -

I'm over it now, but the first time I did it I about died. Poise FTW!11 -
I once gave myself a fat lip while boxing. Just pulled back too far, too fast and smacked myself in the mouth with my own fist. Blood everywhere and my trainer trying desperately not to laugh and laugh.20

I threw up on my first day of fitness boot camp. And again on the second day. LOL I just kept going.
Another time, I was running on the treadmill. A lady got on the machine next to me. For some reason, after matching my speed, she kicked up the speed but was only able to maintain that speed a few seconds. Next thing I know, she falls face first on the treadmill and shoots back into the wall behind us like a cartoon. Talk about embarassing!!
