I ran! Just to then end of the drive and back but i ran!
That's all I could run 7 weeks ago and I felt like I was going to die, now I can for 52 mins. As soon as you get started, it gets surprising how quickly it gets easier and easier. At the moment, I don't find running much harder than walking, and it's heaps easier to run than it was to walk when I got my fitbit on July 3 this year. Then walking 2.7 km walking was agony.22 -
Broke my swimming distance record again.
And shaved 9 minutes off the previous distance mark. Record was 17.6km.
More it is 20km. That took 7 hours and 9minutes. I don't think i'll try to break this record.
I shaved that morning and had 5 O'clock shadow when I was finished.31 -
I walked a full 5k today!!! I was slow, but it's a new personal best regardless.
59 minutes to go 3.24 miles.
I'd love to be able to do 10k in that time eventually.34 -
This was the first weekend in forever that I didn't have any restaurant meal, either dining out or food delivery. I usually struggle on the weekends to make good choices, but this one I made at least as good food choices as I did during the week, if not better.35

3 miles an hour isn't fast but it's a good solid walking pace. Keep going, you will be amazed at how you progress! Consider trying c25k, it sounds like you would be ready for it!12 -

We walk at the same pace!! From experience it seems for every 10 lbs lost my pace increases by 1 min. Regardless if you are trying to lose weight or not you will improve over time. Congrats on today's PB!15 -
I went to the mall to buy "riding" boots yesterday. I managed to squish one foot in a boot, the other wasn't happening. How is this an NSV? Even though the boots were too small, they were NORMAL calf, not WIDE calf. In that, I consider it a NSV!28

Someone who hasn't seen me in person since late August walked up and raved about how my face has changed!21

I'm SO jealous! I'm losing everywhere, except on my calves. Absolutely nothing is moving there, even though I've lost 36 lbs so far. I'm guessing it'll be the very last place where the fat decides to go - if it ever does ... So yay for normal calf boots!

I had 3 NSV this weekend.
First one I noticed: My family and I have seasons tickets to the theatre. For all plays this season the seats were uncomfortable because the metal bars that support the chair arms would dig into my hips. Yesterday’s play, my hips didn’t touch the arms at all and I felt comfortable through the whole play.
Second NSV: I have a cruise at the end of December which is a huge motivator for me. I have 2 old dresses that used to fit that I wanted to be able to take for the formal nights on the boat. This morning I tried them on again and could zip up both. They were a little snug, but should be perfect for the cruise in a month & a bit.
And lastly - today my daughter and I got gym memberships and worked out for 60 minutes. It’s one more positive step towards being healthy and making fitness a priority in our lives.34 -
I can put my arms by my side in the bathtub34

My sister in law was listing out how many desserts she was getting/baking for Thanksgiving and I told her it was too much for 8 people and asked her to reduce a few things as she always wants to force it home with us and she is also trying to lose weight and she needs to do it for her health.26

I ran outside today for the first time!
Before now I have been too self conscious to run outside (apart from running a few metres for a bus the odd time!), but since I was on holiday in a quiet area I thought I would give it a go. I found it harder than on the treadmill and my pace was too fast as my headphones died early on, but now I've done it once, the next time should be easier!38 -

Hurrah!!! Once you get used to running outside, running on the treadmill becomes harder, actually.11 -
I still can't run for longer than a minute at a time. I still can't do a sit up properly. But as of today, I can do this:
(We won't talk about what it takes to get up there and especially down. There's a lot of thudding)

This one is inspiring to me for sure. I also can't run for anything, and also can't do a proper sit-up. I have a strong back and shoulders, and even legs to a certain extent, but zero core strength and some crap lung capacity. It's something in my inherited anatomy because my superfit dad has the same issues (he's nearly 80 and plays 3 hours of tennis like 4 times a week, plus forest hikes and so on). Anyway the point is that seeing your picture and noticing especially you're toned and that you're enjoying yourself doing a physical activity is really encouraging. It inspires me to keep looking for fitness activities besides long walks through the city + the occasional resistance band training that I enjoy, and that can contribute to my overall fitness level. Well done and also thanks!11 -
Getting told by a phlebotomist that I have beautiful veins...being a vampire, that means a lot to me24

Yesterday I really wanted some ice cream. So when I went out to buy it, I passed on the gallons and half gallons, no matter how much more cost effective they are, and got a single pint of the good stuff. It was just big enough for my small family to split three ways, so I got to enjoy my premium ice cream, and there's no half-full carton beckoning to me from the freezer.46

Awesome. That's the way it should be. A modest (in a previous decade 'normal') size of, as you put it, 'the good stuff'. More is not better if it's loaded with 'the bad stuff' just to make it bigger, right?13 -
I did a pistol squat on each leg for the first time They were pretty ugly but I got back up lol. It's funny they don't look like much, but they're hard!27

Today I had a Red Hat event followed by a wonderful lunch.
First I only ate half my sandwich and half my dessert..brought the rest home for hubby's dinner. Got home about 3--it is cold and windy but there is "weather" coming in tomorrow so even as it was getting late we did go for our two mile walk--this time the one with a killer hill. I normally would get home and just veg.31 -
Today I'm rocking a hot pink skirt to work that has been in my wardrobe unworn for 10 years!!
I only wore it once to work when I was at my slimmest then was never able to fit into it again. I held onto it all these years for some reason and I still can't quite believe I'm wearing it again.
It's a bit on the tight side but I somehow feel confident in it! Let's hope the seams hold up 😂50 -
I kept logging even though I felt really ill.36

Today I received a new swimsuit through the post - just in time for my short break to warmer climes! The NSV is that this is the first time in about 20 years that I have bought a swimming costume that I think looks quite good, fits well and makes me feel like a normal human being. And what's more - while it is well structured it doesn't look like it was designed by an engineer to hold back the Red Sea. Beyond pleased34

I got back on track after a traveling vacation (where I only had access to a microwave and mini-fridge). I also didn't get down on myself for going over - instead, I treated it as an excellent experiment in how to eat reasonably while on vacation, and figured out what worked, what didn't, and how much food I should pack to avoid impulse food purchases. I still definitely enjoy going out to eat while on vacation, but I'm not a social person and still prefer to eat most of my meals at the hotel/airbnb, especially since I also prefer to travel alone.19
