I’m getting Island fever and want to see some other cities trails. A mental vacation if you will. I don’t care if your walk is to the store😬
Here is one of my trails in Volcano National Park.

Wow! I’ve been to 46 states so far - Hawaii is part of the elusive 4 that I haven’t gotten to yet! Very cool.1

My profile picture is a trail in Northern California. There is a sign at the top warning you to be aware that there are mountain lions.
That particular trail hooks up with the trail for the Western States 100.
I love Volcanoes National Park. I especially like how you can go up from Hilo, or the other side, and you go from warm and sun up to the top of Kilauea to be in clouds and cool. Often, anyway.
Thanks for sharing your picture.1 -

HI? I'm in prelim stages of planning a bike tour of the Big Island, esp. the arid (volcano/Kona) side, for about 1yr from now. Where is this? I've seen mostly only road biking references. Interested in a multiday tour, top hotels not needed (nor camping), and snorkeling stops (such as Cook Monument bay - can't remember the name as I type this). Went to HI (3 islands [Oahu, Hawaii, Maui]) for our honeymoon a lifetime ago, aching to get back now that I'm retired. Who am I kidding, Hilo side also, LOL!0 -

Love Washington. Lived in Auburn for a while as a kid. Vacationed La Push, Hood Canal. Dove the San Juan Islands on a weeklong personal cruise. In NJ now, will get back there someday now that I'm retired.
Glad to see you riding. I remember a thread about your new bike somewhat recently.2 -
From Central NJ, the northern Coast.
1. Sandy Hook, part of the Gateway National Seashore ("gateway" to NY harbor). That's lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn coast at the horizon. Water on the right is the Atlantic Ocean; left is Sandy Hook Bay. The path runs down the ramp to quite near the tip to the north (straight ahead, 6 miles). I live about 4 miles from here.
2. Sandy Hook path about 1/3 the way up the peninsula. Fairly well wooded.
3-4. Sections of the "Bayshore Trail" part of the Henry Hudson Trail built by Monmouth County. Sandy Hook in the background across the water (Sandy Hook Bay).
5-6. Inland from shore about 8 miles, the Henry Hudson Trail winds through a more rural section.
7-8. Further inland, about 25 miles, another rail-trail conversion by Monmouth County, the Union Transportation Trail. More rural yet.
NJ isn't all industrial/turnpike, LOL.

@lorrpb that bridge is cool!
@GiddyupTim mountain lions wow. Big Island we have wild pigs 😬
@mjbnj0001 wow NJ is beautiful, I had no idea! This is in the National Park which is in Volcano, HI. Steep elevation coming up from Hilo for biking. Hilo to Volcano be prepared for rain, Kona and Captain Cook much drier. Pm me and I’ll help you as much as I can on your travel.
Wow y’all these are great! US sure has some beautiful areas!

Over here in Tasmania, I often walk and run along here. There's a paved footpath which I'm standing on to take that photo, or we walk/run on the beach itself.

This is Cumberland Island, GA. I haven't been there in years but it's absolutely magical.
Edit: This is the main road around the island and you can only get there by ferry. They don't allow cars outside of the residents.4 -
