Is Coke Zero too good to be true?

It claims to have 0 calories and looks like a great substitute for sugary snacks. Are there any non-widely known negatives of it?

    Does it have aspartame?

Yes, Coke Zero has aspartame. I don't think it tastes like regular Coke, and the artificial sweetener taste is very strong. If you like the taste, though, I don't see why it would be an issue in moderation for most people.

Pepsi Max is the best but Coke Zero is good too! As they say though- everything in moderation. I find they can be great when I have a little craving for something sweet!

It's one of the few things that works for me when I'm very thirsty. Tastes good and a lot of carbonation.

Nothing wrong with it, nothing wrong with aspartame, and is a good alternative to more calorie dense options.

In what dosage? Are you planning on drinking gallons of it a day, or just enjoying it in moderation within the context of a reasonable diet?

Just maybe one 500ml bottle every other day

It's fine. Really. Switching to zero or close-to-zero calorie drinks have helped tons of folks manage their calories better while improving their health.

    Enjoy!

I prefer a sugary drink but don't dislike artificial. The preference isn't enough to make the trade off, I could make room in my calorie budget for a regular drink or two, but why should I when instead I could have the diet drink with a chunk of cheese or whatever?

If it makes OP feel better, Coke Zero is the "manly" version of Diet Coke.

The only negative I can see is that because it is very sweet....it could cause some people to crave more sweet things which makes it difficult to stay within your calorie goal. However if you don't have any adverse reactions to the sweetener (headaches, cravings) then go for it. I don't drink it regularly but if I am out for a meal and not having alcohol I'd usually have a diet fizzy drink.

Interesting about the coke marketing strategies.

In my subjective opinion, Pepsi max and coke zero both taste better than diet coke which to me has a bit of a chemically taste.

i dont like the taste of diet sodas other than the cola ones as I think they all taste way too chemically. I guess the cola flavour is strong enough to overcome this whereas lemonade, orange etc isnt.

But from an 'are they ok' question - yes, fine.

just up to you if you like the taste of them or not.

Nothing wrong with Coke Zero, especially if a bit of sweet taste helps nip cravings in the bud or if you'll drink that instead of full-cal beverages.

I love diet soda, but colas aren't my thing. I only drink them when out and there's nothing else available. At home, we're diet ginger ale fiends. I especially like the diet cranberry ginger ale.

It's often just the thing when you feel like you want a little something something but you're not sure what.
