35 by 35 in 35's

Hiya!! Small goals!! In 2019 I will be turning 35 yo. Soooo... I have challenged myself to lose 35pounds by handling life in 35day increments. My goals are small & simply. They are on my terms. They are not like all the other programs I have done where it is very black & white " cut everything now!" Nor this is plan so restrictive that I want to rebel the first week in. I am taking account for the holidays, applying the knowledge I have learned over the years of failed attempts.Motivation gets you there but doesn't keep you. My goal is to develop healthy habits that will last throughout 2019 & beyond. My faith is very important to me so this journey will include bible time, prayer, & worship music. First set of small goals is: 5am wake up & 35 days of moving for 35 mins a day and reducing/eliminating white sugar & white flour from my everyday. First 35 starts today & will end on Christmas Day! #herewego! nzchihq2k647.jpg

Is there a reason you want to eliminate white flour/sugar from your diet? Just saying as there's no need to cut out certain foods unless of course its for medical reasons.

Its good to have goals so I'll wish you all the best.

Thanks for the encouragement! And I totally agree you can have best of both worlds. The cut down helps me stay focused & decreases my cravings. I just switch everything to sprouted, rice pasta etc. :)

Have you set a calorie goal? Keeping your calorie intake below your calorie expenditure is what you need to do to lose body mass.

Everything is else is either (1) just a technique or a strategy to try to attain a calorie deficit; (2) a technique for losing water weight or weight from the contents of your digestion system, which is short-term, irrelevant, and possibly unhealthy; (3) a technique or strategy that may possibly be beneficial to your overall health and nutrition but is irrelevant to weight loss; or (4) complete and total nonsense -- possibly well-intentioned from someone who's been misled, possibly intentionally misleading from someone who wants to sell you something or sell your eyeballs/clicks to someone else.

Yep! Calories are set at 1200-1400 keeping myself accountable through logging my foods. And I actually have a lot of success following Trim Healthy Momma eating plan. So I am easing my way back into that eating style & at the first of the year I will be doing a fast with my church. That will be 35-40 days of a modified diet. Not sure which restrictions I will have in place then but praying about it.

@RosiePosie129 I’m proud to see this post, you’ve set a realistic goal and will succeed if you stick to it. Cut all junk and processed food as you stated this plays a vital role on you cutting body fat I did it and it work. God bless love that you mention your faith!

I don't want to rain on your parade...but those aren't really small goals. That's a lot to take on board all at once. Maybe it would be better to just pick one of two of those things and incorporate them every 35 days.

I read the same and thought, well, brown sugar is not white :-)

OP, Good Luck with your "program" which seems like mini-experiments throughout the year. The MFP community is here to support you!
