You think my turkey is safe to cook i had to fill up my tub with cold water because of how big it was I did turn it 3 times threw the night. You think It'll be safe to cook it and eat it?

Is it thawed through all the way?

You could 'butterfly' it if its not thawed yet, that will speed up the thawing process and it will cook in half the time once thawed.

Are you concerned because you left it out all night or that it might not be completely thawed?

:grimace: What is/was the temperature of the water? Turkeys can be thawed in water, but it should be changed every half hour. My husband drove 70 miles yesterday for a fresh turkey since ours hadn't thawed in the fridge like we thought it would.

    Probably?

My family has always just left ours out in an empty plastic bucket to thaw for about 24 hours before we planned to cook it. Technically, we all go against government guidelines as to how to “properly” thaw a turkey, but we’ve been doing it this way for decades, and no one’s gotten sick yet. :p

It's been a long time since I bought a frozen turkey but it's a safe bet that I didn't thaw it "properly" either, and no one's gotten sick here either.

I'm curious if you ate it and how it was, OP!

That's what I came back for as well.

Should we assume a bad outcome if OP doesn't return?
