Shouldn’t I be losing more weight??

I’m a 5’11 157 pound female and I’ve been eating around 1200 calories or less and also working out without eating back burned calories, and I only lost 0.2 pounds this week. Frustrated because I’m constantly hungry and I wish it was paying off more. Any advice?

Misery does not burn calories.
Also, you should be eating back your exercise calories, I'm not surprised you're hungry on only 1200! That really is very few calories
Weigh loss isn't linear. Your body does not think in nice weekly chunks. It doesn't know when your weighing days are and aren't. You need to look at more than 1 week before worrying that nothing is happening, normally at least 4. It could be that you're fluctuating with water weight that's masking fat loss.19 -
Are you weighing your food with a food scale? My progress was extremely slow before purchasing one and it turns out I was WAYYY under predicting how much I was eating. Now, I’ve had a scale for about a month and I’ve been losing about a pound a week!13

You might be hungry because of food choices, and you might not lose much because you're underestimating your calories.12

You could be retaining water from exercise. Are you weighing all your food, everyday? 1200 seems ultra low for your stats. Constantly hungry is not a good sign. Also since you are already at a healthy weight for your height, to lose more patience will be key. 0.2lb is a pretty decent rate.8

Your calories sound low for your height. Being constantly hungry isn't ideal nor will it help motivate you to keep going. Give it time. Oh and eat some exercise calories back, that's the way MFP is designed.8

You are right in the middle of a healthy weight range for your height so that's exactly the amount you should be aiming to lose a week on average if you're just trying to shift a few vanity pounds. There's definitely no need to be eating less than 1200 calories at your stats. Your BMR at those stats (guessing on age here) is around 1500 so even if you're really sedentary your maintenance is in the region of 1900 calories per day.

Eating less then you used to doesn’t guarantee a loss, as stated above you are considered a healthy weight now.
I’d suggest you should stop weighing and start exercising and measuring your self. It might just be tightening up that your need.
Good luck figuring it all out 🌼2 -
Is 1200 what mfp gave you- maybe you need to look at what you have set it up to lose- like some have said- .05 a week will yield you more calories-also check out the volume eaters thread- there are some marvelous ideas for eating a great deal of food for lower calories esp with non starchy vegetables0

Good grief, JellyyBeanz. Please eat more! This will be a very slow process for you because you don't have much to lose (you're already a healthy weight), so plug in your stats, set your loss to 0.5lb a week, and enjoy your full calorie allowance. It'll be a much more pleasant journey for you. You don't need to starve yourself or be miserable to lose weight.6
