Net Carbs

Curios why you don’t have the net carbs in the macros. This is very important when you are trying to figure out the total carbs. For the premium price you should have it. I’m just starting keto and there are free apps that offer this. It should be automatic when you calculate. Very disappointed for a premium user. I see there are tons of others who want this option.

Who are you talking to? Under armour don't look at forum posts8

This is a good reason to get most of your carbs from sugar; it makes that math easier.13

There are tons of "net carb" entries in the database if you search for them using "net carbs."
You can also enter any food you want with net carbs.
It isn't disallowed, and in fact the database is created by users - so each person can customize his/her own foods and then use them exclusively by using their MY FOODS. Most of the foods are entered incorrectly anyway, so what good would it do to simply have a computer-generated subtraction?
I don't eat more than 30g fiber a day usually. I'm capable of doing that math in my head - not that I bother...

This site is for counting calories.....as a calorie deficit is what is important for weight loss.
This site is also international. Most countries have food labels that are already net carbs. So an "automatic calculation" would screw up entries for thousands of people.
Add carbs to the things you track (this is free) and subtract that 1 or 2 digit number.5 -
Net carbs have been discussed here a time or two in the past. Here's a bit of reading for you, just a few of the threads - with many containing explanations as to why it's impractical and probably won't ever be implemented:

Pattirae63, I agree with you, for premium they should have the option to let us choose if we want to track Total Carbs or Net Carbs, like CarbManager App does. For low carb or keto this app is not that usefull. Very disappointed that they dont have that option...I wish I knew it before I paid for premium8

It's not listed in the FAQs as being a premium feature. You can include "net carb" as part of your search term, or keep carb and fibre close together, it's pretty simple math. Just some work around. If you search the forums, there is an add on that you can download to get it to track net carbs.2 -

Set your diary to show you total carbs and fiber, and just subtract the fiber from the total carbs to get net carbs. Takes all of about 2 seconds to do it in your head.
Most people do not follow net carbs but total carbs so MFP is not going to make that kind of a change for a minority of users, especially when there is a very simple end-around.5 -
Some entries have net carbs in the carbs (as mentioned upthread, ones from most countries besides the US and Canada), some were created specifically to have net carbs. A rote subtraction by the site would not give a correct answer.
If you actually care about accuracy, create or find net carb entries or use the regular US all carb entries, track fiber, and do the subtraction in your head. That's what I did when I briefly tracked net carbs.
I really don't understand why some people find this to be too much trouble.6 -
When I add new foods, beside the food I list I'm marking net carbs in brackets and in the carb field I'm putting in net carbs. Then when I put in my food quantity it will list the carbs and I know it is net carbs because it shows beside the food.
