I just found out that I’ve passed an important exam that my career depended on. That is a personal victory but the other NSV is after a very stressful time studying and waiting on results I didn’t revert to my old stress eating habits (completely). I’m currently maintaining (lost 103lbs) and maybe had 1 day a week of stress indulgence but I still track everything, and I’m still maintaining! I find a long walk good for stress relief and preventing snacking so win win 😁42

Went to two potlucks and stayed on my diet at both. Wasn't even tempted by the desserts.29

Professional exams for certifications are extremely stressful - I still have moments when I relive those days, very glad it was in the past. Kudos for not letting it derail your weight goals!17 -

Thanks rcreynol3090 for your kind words, I’ve not let my pass sink in yet, very stressful but glad it’s finally over 😂9 -
I felt like I pigged out Wednesday (work had a mostly sweets breakfast laid out) and Thursday. I ate light and worked out yesterday and surprised to see pretty much nothing on the scale this morning. I have been close to the top of my maintenance range lately; I want to have a little more wiggle room at Christmas so I am going to try to eat at a deficit for a while.19

Broke 130 miles of swimming in a 4 week period.
And my colleagues in China who would openly fat shamed me are silent. Others actually used the words slim and motivating in reference to me.
I'm not slim yet as I see it. But my shoulders are36 -
A box of donuts showed up at work yesterday. I looked in the box and decided that no, my favourite type wasn't there, and walked away. At one time I would have just grabbed any old one and eaten it while walking back to my desk, without any thought at all.30

Enjoyed Thursday food and my day off the gym. In laws seriously had nothing I could eat (literally meat and meat containing sides left on Friday, nothing else but a box of lucky charms and some frozen French fries in the house)...so I ate a lot of cheese. Oh well.
But, NSV is that even though SIL bailed on me Friday so I couldn’t hit the gym (needed her to get me in as a guest), I did an hour’s worth of Pilates and resistance band videos. Now I’m back at it, back to regular diet and exercise. Just leaving those two days full of cheese and wine in the past.21 -
I'm in this gym fitness partners thing at the work gym. My partner (my friend) is way more athletically inclined than I am. (That's a nice way to say my arms are like noodles and my conditioning is nowhere near an 11 min. mile). I'm seriously inspired by my partner. She's awesome and I want to bump my fitness up to that level (which counters the other half of me that desires only to be lazy, but that's neither here nor there! ). Each of the challenge events (we get points for attempting, not just placing), she's pretty far ahead of me. Except one. The 500m row (how quickly you can row 500m/timed cardio event) we did the day before Thanksgiving... I was only 20s behind her. This is amazing to me. I felt so accomplished! The weights we've been doing (we were doing a strength/weight lifting routine before the challenges) have been paying off. We both decided to add in the timed row at the end for cardio / full body burn since we did so well.
Boy did I feel it. That night, making my bread turkey army was difficult since the dough I was working with stubbornly resisted any rolling out, so I had to sculpt them turkeys by hand! I definitely regretted the soreness, lol!17 -

My wife said I better change my pants --- they looked like they were going to fall off! I'm starting to be able to wear my smaller sizes. Progress is going in the right direction for sure.28

Honey crullers. 280 calories of sugar and fat. But if they are available, I will make them fit my day. Ridiculous, I know lol14 -
My most recent one revolves around this collage from the photo booth at the Turkey Trot this year. I particpate in the Sub 30 running group on Facebook. I posted my results to them and talked about how I'd like to earn an age group medal one day. Another member of the group told me some average medal times she has seen for different men's age groups, including guys in their 30s, presuming me to be 32. Nope, I'm 45!!22

I am starting to have more wiggle room. The first "monitor" shirt is not as tight anymore. (not anywhere near close to goal but I'll celebrate the small wins)

Completed 2 5k runs this week. Yesterday's run was for a veterans benefit group. I have 2 NSV's from that run.
#1 When I picked up my bib, the volunteer asked runner or walker? I didn't immediately answer as this always shocks me that I'm a runner and the person beside me said, she's obviously a runner. I still struggle with that identification.
#2 At the half way turn a young woman, looking very fit, started pacing next to me. Near the finish I thanked her for the motivation. She smiled and said, I was her motivation for the entire run. We later chatted, and I now have a new run buddy.38 -
Clothing NSV’s!
Last time I went shopping at Dress Barn, I had to select 1X’s and 2X’s from the “big gal” side. This week I got to shop on the “normal size” side. The XL’s I tried on were too big and the L’s fit, despite me thinking they looked too small. I was worried I was an imposter even shopping on that side, which strangely makes me feel resentful that sizes are still kept in separate sections at so many stores.
My XXL winter coat has been swimming on me, the sleeves had magically grown longer and I thought I’d try on some coats at the mall on Black Friday. I was surprised again to fit into L’s in several brands and left with a new (50% off) coat that looks much more flattering to my figure.
Finally, my brand new goal jeans were falling off my hips, which is annoying because they’re brand new, but again I’m apparently smaller than I think.
My brain/self-perception definitely hasn’t caught up to reality yet!29 -

Getting back into weight loss with some relearning of self control. Also feeling so good being able to exercise again! (Even if it is water jogging and not my usual routine). There were times I would have been really glad to have an excuse not to exercise..18

I have been in maintenance for over a year now.My NSV yesterday the look on my parents face yesterday and declaring in admiration: "I am still surprised I see you to see you at that size and shape I never thought it possible"
The thing is due to changes in exercise, both routine and intensity, my body is still changing whilst staying at my goal weight28 -
I went bowling for 1.5 hours last night and I can still walk this morning! Yay fitness!17

I made 3 enchiladas for my tea tonight, but stopped after two because I was full. Normally I would have forced the last one down because it was there.32

On Saturday my fiancé and I went for dinner and a movie. We shared two sides and had our own main courses, no dessert. Come cinema time, I was so full up that I didn't eat ANY snacks throughout the movie. Never before have I sat with a bag of M&Ms next to me and not thought about them once. I was even well within my calorie goal for the day.32

I have two bum knees and I’ve been doing single leg toe touches as part of my workout routine. The exercise requires a lot of balance, which is difficult with bad knees. When I started, I had a heckuva time doing just one toe touch without losing my balance. Now I can do ten on each leg without problems. Feeling really good about the massive improvement in my balance and flexibility!31

I went on holiday for 2 weeks back to my home country and managed to eat my favourite foods without going mad and eating all the things (like I usually do).
Logged throughout and kept to a deficit most days with a few treat days closer to maintenance.23 -
I had never maxed out before - like prior to lifting weights or throughout - well a friend and I went to max out before I started a new lifting routine and my deadlift max was my current body weight!!
Plus I tried on my goal pants (size 10) and I was able to put them on and zip/button them! From a starting size of 20! Now I still have work to do - but I am one step closer to where I want to be33 -
This thread is the BEST!!! MFP really needs a "Woot woot!" button, though, because "Like" just isn't enough sometimes!
I did a special workout the day before Thanksgiving with a pretty intense instructor I haven't had before. First thing he said was, "Start running," and I panicked because I couldn't tell you the last time I tried to run! Well, I surprised myself a lot, because it turns out I actually can run, a bit! It's not fast or pretty, but I did it! And burned over 1,000 calories, according to my Fitbit.31 -
I bought what I thought would be a pair of motivation jeans in a smaller size and when I got home they fit!43

Well done for your fitness challenge - my mind is boggling at the prospect of a bread turkey army though?? Kneading and rolling dough is a great exercise for 'bingo wings' 😉 x6 -
I needed to renew my gym membership. I had been putting off going down there and doing it, because my work hours have changed and my motivation to go had wained. I finally booted myself to go down there and accidentally scored a Black Friday deal on the membership! By accidentally I mean I didn't even know they were doing a deal on Friday when I went in to renew23
