Hi All- I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to why when I added one tablespoon of balsamic glaze at 40 calories my projected weight in 5 weeks went up .3 pounds as opposed to not adding it?! This happens often when I am adding something with so little caloric value. I don't understand how a 40 calorie food could prevent me from losing that .3 pounds. I have to admit, I obsess about the projected weight in 5 weeks

            40 X 35 = 1400.
It's generally assumed that 3500 calories equal one pound and being 40 calories per day over your calorie goal every day would theoretically be 0.4 pounds - but those projections also assume you have calculated everything exactly perfectly which just isn't possible.

Thank you. But, I am not even over my calorie limit. I guess I just need to stop obsessing about it and keep doing what I am doing 2 2

But you are decreasing your calorie deficit... Smaller deficit, smaller weight loss.6

            It's just math.
Those projections? I clicked them for about a month and never clicked them again because they're dumb.
That was eleven years ago. You don't have to click "Complete the day" or whatever it says. Just skip that if it's triggering your anxiety. 2 2

Don't forget to add the calories you get just looking at food.0

That pop up is a gimmick. It's a simple formula based on something practically impossible - that every day will be exactly like today. I haven't completed my diary in at least a couple of years, so I never see it. But it's about as good at predicting your future weight as those FB quizzes are at determining your IQ.2
