What are your sentiments toward this past year? What good happened? What did you accomplish or learn? What sucked?

This past year was an emotional rollercoaster. I landed my first job post grad as a nurse on a palliative unit. Shed a lot of tears, met a lot of amazing people, learned SO so much and became stronger because of it. Gained weight, then lost it all . Now I'm feeling healthier than I ever have, physically and emotionally. All in all a pretty good year in the end.6

Dear 2018,
You were full of unusual experiences for me. I’ve lost a lot. Two uncles, two cousins, a good neighbor. I lost my home and nearly all my possessions once and almost twice. I lost two pets. I’ve dedicated most of my time to insurance paperwork and counseling and embracing tiny home living. I had major surgery. I fell way behind at work. I neglected my relationships to an astonishing degree.
You have tested my patience and happiness many times.
But my god did I laugh a lot. So, so much. I’ve met tremendously good friends. I embraced some previously discarded ways of thinking after careful reconsideration that lasted all year, and I’ve never felt happier. I’ve recognized how weak I really am physically and how strong I can be emotionally. I’ve developed some damn good habits. I’ve forgiven myself for my vices. I’ve renewed my love for my job. I’ve taken trips that were literally life-altering. My energy level has grown so much. I quit texting while driving. I enjoy my kids more. I eat fast food less and I cook more. Like real food. And i get to live in a new home soon. Maybe even this year.
A lot has changed. I wouldn’t want to do it again but I wouldn’t wish it away for anything.

Dear 2018,
I'm not sure what the reason was for making me go through a year like this but you can go *kitten* yourself.8 -
Dear 2018,
had a rough start. things got worse after that. peaked around my bday. but then it cleared up.
i got rid of a lot of trash finally. it was my own fault for letting it pile up.
but hey, i wasn't always that way, and i remembered that finally, remembered how i needed to be again.
so i've been doing a lot better since. there's been a lot of good times. hopefully gonna be a lot more in the new year.7 -
2018 was all about personal growth for me. It was the year I finally got my *kitten* together.

Sounds like it can only go downhill from here0 -
Had a pretty good year. Paid off all of our Credit debt in preparation for Retirement. Took a 10 day motorcycle trip with my buddies. Took two weeks off and spent half in Palm Springs and the other half exploring Wineries in Napa Valley. Great Thanksgiving and hoping for a Great Christmas with my wife and three daughters.
Looking forward to 2019. Wife and I are retiring July 31st. Then selling our home and moving to Vegas.6 -
Dear 2018,
What the *kitten* was that?? My whole life changed. Left my husband, sold the house I loved, lived with a friend for 2 months, bought a new place, cell phone died and had to get a new one and a new number, changed jobs, debit and credit cards blocked for fraud at the same time and no access to funds for 3 weeks, totaled my car, attempted dating and ended up with a broken heart, had a cancer scare and subsequent genetic testing...did I miss anything??
At this point, the only additional change I will accept this year is winning the lottery, or maybe finding a decent guy to date. I figure my odds are about the same.6 -

Dear 2018,
You were a good year. Unfortunately a fattening year, though, so I’m kinda mad at you about that and disappointed in myself. However, I am proud of myself for other reasons and that outweighs the disappointment. Although I have some fear about the weight and the trouble I’m having losing it. As you know, as you pass, 2018, I get older and not better looking so that sucks. Only because people will discriminate and I worry about that since I’m working so hard at the moment and in some ways going so far yet also going nowhere in others. But, that is next years problem. I look forward to 2019 yet also feel fear that once again another year shall pass with my visual failures being obvious to all and that feeling of disappointment in self lingering forever in my heart. But we shall see. It’s not like I’m not trying. So there’s a chance. And we end as we began...keeping on one day at a time.

2018, you’ve been a year of big changes, some many years in the making. I’m a much happier, healthier person than I was a year ago and am thankful beyond words for the chance to meet some of the people I’ve met this year.
2019, you’re going to be all about recovering from some of 2018’s changes in the form of finding financial stability again and about working hard towards my goals to be even happier and healthier a year from now than I am today. Let’s go!2 -

Dear 2018,
A little warning would have been nice around the beginning of the year because you really floored me with that nightmare in January. I also will not miss the constant fighting and tears the next two months brought, but around April you brought a feeling of relief and also hope, only to be followed by feelings of failure until the summer began and back to hopesville! And that was pretty crappy to take husband and son from my favorite aunt this past two months....wtf was up with that?! Besides that it is a milestone year for me and my son and with it brought a lot of changes I had to really learn on the fly.
I will give you.props for bringing me to the realization that to be a better mom and care taker of my son, I really need to take charge of my health and thank you for bringing me back here to help me get my mojo back and also feel connected to others and take me away from the problems and worries of daily life. Thank you for giving my son an excellent year in his growth of communication, he really seems to be taking the initiative to talk and communicate.verbally more and more and it's beautiful!!
Thank you for his dad and I deciding that friends and partners were better than couple and arch enemies. Thank you for catching my mom's cancer and hopefully this last operation will take the last of it away. Thank you for making me look forward to 2019 so much and be more prepared for a *kitten* storm like 2018 was in the beginning, but I'm hopeful you'll give me a break and if not...be prepared for a battle😏😘👍
Hugs
Ali💃

Dear 2018,
My, my... where does the time go. Pretty soon you'll be 2020 and the thought of that, well, it just makes me want to freefall into a black hole of depression.3 -

Dear 2018,
Wow! We didn't like each other much for the first several months, but as we hit the dog days things changed and they changed in a big way. There was a LOT of pain early on, and some continues as we start to draw the curtain, but there was an incredible amount of joy and contentment as well over the past several months.
I wouldn't wish to skip you for any reason at this point because despite the down there was also up, and the up is the future so thank you, 2018. Without you to start the second half of my life with the time and space to connect to one of the best persons I have ever known, my life would be "less than".
The ground work is laid for 2019, and for that I will be forever grateful to you, 2018.

Meh.
Tough in many ways, but a lot of status quo too. Nothing progressive or new, so that is probably what makes it so meh.1 -
You were weird, and awesome at times, and awful at others, but I've seen enough bipolar years to just shrug and go with it.
You also were too busy, and threw a lot at me - you never *kitten* slept, did you? Well I hope your successor is narcoleptic.
And there were new things we did together, and we also built a lot on older ones. You were shocking and mean at times, but you didn't take anyone away with you, so thanks for that.
And you also brought the revelation of this place. This is a cool place.3 -

Hear that guise?! We're cool!
'course. Tiny Sab would have bailed with her raptor a long time ago if you weren't.1
