can't search app for food or exercise

I'm frankly not thrilled with the app and its limitations.

First, I can't enter the calorie and other requirements (carbs, fat, protein...) my nutritionist has set for me. I have to do that online.

Second, the app doesn't seem to have an option to search for foods other than those I have already entered or can scan the barcode for. I can search just fine online, but then it doesn't add the item to my recent foods list for the next time I need to log it. For example, banana comes up with no results.

Third, I can't find my exercise class in the app or on-line, so I have just been putting in the total calories burned. I do orange theory fitness and it's a really challenging class for both cardio and strength. Would love to have something that includes the strength portion as it does up the heart rate as well given that part of the class almost always includes rowing. Anyone else doing OTF have a suggestion?

I have premium; I'm on most recent iOS and most recent version of the app. I can't find anything remotely recent in the tech support articles that deal with the search issue.

To search for foods, you have to first select Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, then it will give you the next page, and the search box is right at the top of the page in the app. Just type in the food and it will give you the options.

To change your macros, click on the menu, it should be an icon in the upper left hand corner, then scroll down to settings. then go to Edit profile, and at the bottom will be Goals - update your weight nutrition and fitness goals. Select that and under nutrition goals, select calories, carbs, protein and fat goals. That will let you change the percentages to match what your dietician has set for you.

My complaint is that searching just like you have suggested does not work at all unless it is a food I have manually entered. I have searched by meal, with the cursor under recent, frequent, my foods, meals, and recipes. Unless it's a food I manually entered or scanned, I will get 0 search results. Searching on line works fine, but foods I have entered on line into my diary will not come up when searching in the app under any meal.

Thank you for the directions to change the profile. It wasn't quite where you said it was but it was enough of a clue to find it.

You need the tab to be on ALL otherwise you will only see your foods... unless you re using the web page rather than app. Here you need to ensure you are adding food from the food diary tab.

There is no tab for "all" showing on the food entry screen in the app when I choose a meal to add a food to. There are only the ones I listed. Yes, I am using the food diary tab in the app. I only used the website when I wasn't able to get the app search to work.

I did finally find, in much smaller, lighter colored font than everything else on the screen "search all foods for:____" The "create food" and "Quick Add" options are in a larger and darker font and have borders that make them significantly more noticeable. Seems like poor design to make searching all foods so much less obvious than creating a food. Maybe that's why there are about a dozen listings for nonfat milk.

You can just hit the blue search button on the iOS keyboard and it'll automatically search all.
