Some people are going to jump on this and say that only calories matter if you are trying to lose weight, which I agree is a true statement in itself. However, health matters so much more than weight loss alone. We need to look at overall healthy foods in order to live a healthy life, which is what we are all striving for! Right? So much of our food contains added sugar and corn syrup! So yes, read labels!
The only condiment I use on a regular basis, is mustard. Normally, this does not contain added sugar or corn syrup. I also like using fresh salsa for added flavor! Yum!12 -

Do you have any peer reviewed scientific research to support this?
Calories are the culprit for obesity. People eat too much and move too little.
I haven't seen any evidence that HFCS has any different affect on the body than sugar.
If you are eating a diet high in any type of sugar, chances are it is also high in calories.
I have never found it to be true that my diet was full of sugar I didn't expect. When I started to limit "treat foods" that were sweet to get my calories in line, my sugar grams fell into line as well. And if you are eating such big portions of condiments that you have to worry about the sugar in them, I'd guess that's probably where you are wasting a lot of your calories as well.
IMHO, if you are trying to control your weight, worrying about the small stuff is the way most people fall off track. Get your calories in line first. Then if you still feel like your diet is unbalanced, go from there.10 -
Food matters for health, sure. Calories determine whether you lose, gain, or maintain, but I think obviously one should have a healthy diet.
Boiling it down to HFCS doesn't make much sense (I'd focus on making sure you get in the nutrients you need), and if you have a sensible healthy diet you couldn't possibly be consuming too much HFCS anyway. It's not in all condiments (I have mustards and vinegars without it, and you can buy ketchup without it if you want, etc.), and beyond that, how much do you consume of condiments?
I also found I wasn't at all surprised by the amount or source of the sugar I consumed, and ate little to no HFCS before doing MFP (same now). But I like to cook and real labels and am kind of a food snob, I suppose.8 -

Ignoring for the moment the unsubstantiated claim that HCF causes obesity and (unnamed) "health issues," your post is internally consistent. Both of these statements cannot be true:
all condiments have this ingredient
and
you can find same condiment without it5 -
I’ll say it, eating more calories than your body burns, on a consistent basis, causes obesity, no matter what food the calories come from. Condiments aren’t the only foods that have added sugars, and most people don’t get all their calories from condiments. If it concerns you, cook your own food, and make your own condiments, using fresh ingredients. You can then control what is added into them. Losing weight comes from eating less calories than your body burns, maintaining your weight comes from eating the same amount of calories your body burns, and gaining weight comes from eating more calories than your body burns. No matter where the calories come from.10

I don't eat HFCS but don't blame obesity on it - the cause of obesity is too many calories.2
