Type 2 Diabetic despite living a very active sporty lifestyle and eating well. I have spent a decade trying different diets, supplements, exercise methods, the list is long. I self diagnosed with an initial HbA1c of 18.7. Conventional recommended diets do not work. What experiences have you had and what are your successes?

Hi there, I am borderline and not on meds yet. My weight keeps climbing even as I restrict, so dietician refered me here to log everything to see in one month if I 'm still gaining. I'm doing it. It's hard but don't want to continue to gain weight, I already had 40 I wanted to lose, now it's worse. It's nice to meet you all. xo

Use the Search button up there to search for "Diabetes". You'll find many discussion threads mentioning that word. Almost all of them have many happy responders saying that they beat diabetes type 2. I've been lucky, in that in a life of obesity I did not develop that disease. Lose weight, be smart, beat it.

Lauren have you been tested to see if you have pcos? You could be insulin resistant.
