Hi all,
If my calorie goal is 1,500 calories and I burn 300 calories a day would that mean that I’m having 1,200 calories a day? I know this sounds like a silly question but I’m curious if anyone else is doing the same? I’m also doing 16/8 IF. I’ve been doing IF since September but I’m wanting to be more strict on my calories.

My calculations when I started stated I only needed 1,200 which I thought was too low. Then the calculator actually stated I was at risk with having so little calories. I am just watching more of what I eat. Then it increased to 1,700 since I was using the treadmill an hour a day, What is IF?1

Yes it does. MFP gives you your calorie target without including exercise. You should eat back a percentage of your exercise calories to keep from running too aggressive a deficit (and to fuel your increased activity!).7

Typically if you're doing intermittent fasting you don't need to be so strict with calorie counting... imo 1,500 (1,200 net) is a little low but that's just me.14 -

Why would you think that? Calories count the same, no matter what time window they are eaten in.10 -
