Can I eat bread and still lose weight?

One of my easy go to meals in the morning is toast and pb because I work full time and have school full time. I’m worried I can’t lose weight if I eat bread everyday. Is it possible? Will it slow my progress?

As long as you stay in a calorie deficit, you will lose weight. It does not matter what you eat. Watch out for peanut butter though. It is a calorie dense food that you may be eating more of than you realize, and that could hurt your progress. Just make sure you are logging it properly.9

Losing weight doesn't have anything to do with not eating bread or eating bread. Losing weight is about consuming less overall calories than you expend. When you are in an energy (calorie) deficiency, you burn stored fat for energy to make up the difference...has nothing to do with bread.7 -
You can still eat bread and still lose weight, it just depends on what type bread you're eating. Wholemeal bread or seeded bread will be a lot better for you than white bread16

As long as you are in a deficit you will lose weight. I eat toast with peanut butter and jam almost every morning and I lose, maintain or gain depending on my overall calories, not the bread itself.5

You can lose weight eating any type of bread as long as it fits your calories.
Nutrition is important and there is plenty of room for white bread in an overall healthy diet. Wholegrain and seeded breads are great IMO but some people just prefer white, and that's okay.
OP, I eat bread daily as I am a sandwich person and have had no issues losing or maintaining.8 -

Yes its possible, and no it won't do anything to your progress as long as overall you're in a calorie deficit2 -
Yes. I eat bread every single day. And whatever kind I want. Give me carbs or give me death. Moderation is key and sticking to that calorie goal.9

ive lost 100 pounds eating bread in some form or another, nearly every day.
worry about calories and macros, not a food group.6 -
You can lose weight eating (insert literally any food here).
Doesn't mean you can eat all you want, any time you want, because you likely won't stay within your calorie allowance doing that, but you can certainly eat it.5 -

I eat cookies most weekdays and have lost over 20 pounds since September. Yes, as long as you can fit it in your calorie allotment you can eat bread. For what it's worth, my typical breakfast involves a bagel. Taste wise, I prefer oatmeal, but it doesn't fill me up (steel cut oats will sometimes) but a bagel will.1
