Do you drink coffee? Why or why not?

Coffee for me is like wine for other people. I love to smell it and savor it, and even though I don’t think it’s the best thing to drink if one is low in iron and it dehydrates you, I will probably always drink it.
What about you? Do you drink it or don’t drink it for specific reasons (health, religion, don’t like it, etc.)?

I drink it every day. FYI, it does not dehydrate you, it is almost all water.

I drink because I like it and sometimes because I don't get enough sleep. Also I find it can act as an appetite suppressant, so there's that.10

I don't drink coffee, but that's because even the smell of it nauseates me. I do drink other beverages with caffeine (tea and diet colas).5

Coffee breath is about as bad as morning breath.4 -
I drink it for the flavor and don't care whether it's caffeinated or not. It pairs well with certain foods. I do love the smell of it as well.
As for hydration, yes, that has long been debunked. It would take being off caffeine for several weeks and drinking a few cups before you would feel the dehydrating effects. Regular caffeine users don't experience this.

I never developed a liking for or habit of coffee. Then I started limiting or avoiding caffeine about 20 years ago. I'd rather drink other things.0

Love the flavor and aroma. Like a little caffeine before my workouts. Is high in antioxidants and no, it does not dehydrate you.4

IIRC, that would be a short trip, given who your co-workers are . . . ?
I'm retired, don't have co-workers, but I drink two big mugs most days, usually home single-cup drip brewed from home-ground whole beans, with plenty of hot skimmed milk (like 3/4C per mug) because (1) that's how I love it, and (2) it helps with my protein goal.
Unless you have some kind of unusual medical situation, it counts as hydrating fluid. And, as stimulants go, (1) this one is legal (and cheap), and (2) it has cognitive and other benefits.
Can it be overdone? Of course. So don't.
Must people drink it? Of course not. More for me.12 -
My Grandson and I have the "I can't even stand the smell of coffee" gene. My Parents and Children are all coffee drinkers. The coffee-hatred gene must skip a generation!2

I love it. It's that simple. I think I drink too much of it due to caffeine (am trying to convince myself to drink more herbal tea or decaf, but coffee is too easy).

Uugh, no. To me, coffee is exactly the same as hot water filtered through a bag of dirt. Good thing too, because if I did drink it I'm sure I'd be an insufferable coffee snob.
I am a caffeine addict though, but I get my fix from soda. My blood is probably about 20% Coke Zero.8 -
I like drinking something hot in the morning with breakfast, and sometimes I swear it helps get things moving. Some say that is a myth and maybe warm water would do the same, who knows. I limit myself to 2 cups though because I'd be a squirrel running up the walls if I drank coffee all morning/all day.1

Like you, I love the taste and smell and everything about it. Its also the one thing that I have that no matter how great or *kitten* my day is going, at least I got my cup of coffee. So I guess it has some comfort level to it.2

I have coffee a few times a year if I get a craving for it, only decaf because I do not respond well to caffeine, although even decaf can have residual caffeine sometimes. I also recently bought chicory tea which tastes similar to coffee (less bitter and more earthy) but has no caffeine. I actually think it tastes better than coffee and it doesn't leave an aftertaste (part of why I don't have coffee that much) so I may stop drinking coffee altogether and just have that. I'm way more of a tea person and drink tea pretty much every day, although I'm trying to switch to all caffeine-free teas.0

Do not drink it because I am allergic to coffee.
Started really reacting as an adult, but likely always had it a little as I found the smell of coffee nauseating since I was small. But now...woo, sucks as an allergy because everyone, everywhere, drinks the stuff, and trying to avoid it is just a righteous pain in the butt.1 -
