Our vacation to New Orleans was the best vacation we ever took. We have gone to the Caribbean multiple times but because I was so much more active New Orleans was amazing.
Joining the gym has been fun too, I am liking lifting weights and my wife likes the water aerobics too. Life is great

I meal prepped because I won’t buy fast food if I have food cooked already at home. I do the online Walmart grocery shopping and don’t buy junk food, that way it’s not in the house. I only drink water, my wife will drink pop still.
I always scour YouTube for videos of what healthy meals people are cooking and try to replicate them. I limit my red meat intake but that’s only because I love chicken a lot more than red meat. I also hate the smell of raw meat cooking, it turns my stomach.
I also have veggies with my meals and eat them first that way if I’m full I had all the healthier food first.7 -

Love your tips! I am amazed you went from not cooking at home to meal prepping. It literally saved your life! Also like the idea of on-line shopping, you avoid any temptations. It's incredible that you basically just TOOK CHARGE of your life. Well done to the both of you.1 -

I hope you and your wife have a great time in Disney!

I loved cooking but I had grand illusions of what was actually healthy. I just assumed if it was home cooked it was healthy. Our favorite meal was splitting a pound of pasta with hot sausage ground up in the sauce. Tasted fantastic but doing the math it was like over 3k calories.0 -
Thank you... Thank you.... Thank you

Thanks everyone, just to provide an update on where I am. I have now lost 363lbs, I haven’t lost much in the last month due to having surgery done and I am not allowed to lift heavy weight and no running.
It’s hard to believe in a few months it will be two years I started this journey. Thank you all for the kind words.16 -
You give a disabled widow more inspiration to keep on going. I've been battling so many things (seizures/strokes/lymphedema, just to name a few) but I will never give up. It is people like you and the rest of those on MFP that encourage others to keep on going, even if it is at a snail's pace. You are definitely proof that if you don't give up, you will eventually get there!3

Thanks for my morning cup of inspiration!!! BRAVO!!!
