losing baby weight

I had my son almost 2 1/2 years ago and have just continued to gain weight ever since. I am actually 10 pounds heavier than I was when I gave birth. I also got married 2 years ago, to a man I have been with for almost 9 years. I feel That I have gotten entirely too comfortable. I also work from home, so I sit a lot and do not get much excercise throughout the day. I am disgusted with my weight and can not seem to get the motivation to lose it. HELP!

Look up Ramona Braganza's Baby bulge be gone plan - it's apparently what Jessica Alba used to drop her baby weight.
basically it's a brilliant work out plan that i use anyway (even though i havent had a baby!) because it's boredom-busting and fun! Also she advocates clean eating and constant meals to keep blood sugar level - eat every three hours!
hope that helps!0 -
It's great that you took the step on here as this will help you along the way. Just try and get into a routine of working out and eating healthy.
I just had a baby 5 months ago and put on some additional weight after a trip to the UK over Xmas so I had some work to do when I got back home the first week of January  .
I am now just 2 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. :drinker: I started a run club about a month ago so I run 4 times a week and do weights twice a week too. I personally lost the first 10 pounds from following a meal plan on Nadeen Bowmans website (its called the bulge buster) so I actually lost about 15-20 pounds since the second week of January (I signed up on MFP on Jan 30th). You can do this, but just need to focus on your goal and stick to it.0 -
Thank you, I will definetly look that up. I actually just read this issue of "Star" magazine that was talking about how Jessica Alba lost her baby weight (she looks amazing). So, I will try this. Thanx!0

To Helkat:Thanx! Congratulations on the weight and the baby! How do you get the motivation to work out like you do? I work from home, and when I am not working I feel like I have my hands full with my two year old and just being a wife. I feel so burned out all the time. I have a gym membership, and I go when I feel I have extra energy (not very often). But, I just cant seem to get out and go everyday. What's your secret?:laugh:0

Hello and welcome to MFP. You will love this site if you don't already. I love this site so much. It is so motivational, supportive, helpful, and everyone is so nice and friendly. I just wanted to tell you good luck on your weight loss journey. You can do this.0

To lauramg: Thank you, I am definetly looking for good, friendly people to help motivate me. It is comforting to know there are so many other people in the same boat as me, that are all trying so hard to get out. Thanks again!0

I think I am just REALLY motivated to lose the weight. We are planning a short break away in April so that's my goal.. to try and look good in a bikini come April I always focus on working out first thing before the baby wakes up.. this is super hard sometimes, especially when she wakes in the night. I am also not working, so maybe that's why it's a bit easier. I have always worked out in the morning as I know I can put aside the time if I wake up early enough to focus on me.. the rest of the day is all about the baby and my husband and I always have dinner on the table at night when he gets home. You can do it, but you have to really focus on doing it for you and just setting that time aside to go for it. Maybe set a goal or book a family vacation so you have the motivation to get in shape :flowerforyou:0 -

you are more than welcome. We are all here for each other.0 -
Well, I have decided that Monday morning I am going to get to the gym before baby and husband wake up, and really put in the effort to try and stick with it till Friday. I am also going to try to cut a lot of sugar out of what I eat. This morning I woke up and ate malt o meal with butter, maple syrup and milk and felt just awful! I also want to try to cut out soda (I drink mostly diet) but I know it is still very unhealthy! I need to get out of the habit of eating everything I feed to my son. Wish me luck! Heres to new beginnings!0

I totally understand where you are coming from!!!! I have two month old and a 15 month old and I never got to lose all the weight from my 1st daughter and then gained another 39 with my last pregnancy. I have lost 38lbs since giving birth, but I would still like to lose a lot more. I'm not a small girl to begin with but I am sooo disgusted with myself and the lovely belly hang =]0
-
Ooohh, dont you love the belly hang! That's great that you lost that much weight after the baby. I lost quite a bit after birth too, I just gained it all back and then some. I think it is a lot easier to gain after you have kids! My body is a lot different now, a lot harder to lose too!:grumble: I wish you luck with your weight struggle and hope you are successful with losing the baby weight too!:happy:0

I feel you! My son is five and I never lost the baby weight and here I am now weighing 10-12lbs more then when I gave birth. The process of getting a divorce over the past year has prob contributed. We are all here for you.0
-
Thanx girl! sorry about the divorce, that's gotta be rough, and no help with the weight loss journey. I hope that all turns out well for you, and I am here for you too. I just started my new work out regime this morning. I went and did an hour and 15 min at the gym (feel like I'm gonna be sick). I hope I can keep this up!0
-
Started work out regime this morning (which is a good start for me), I am going to try and cut some sugary things out of my diet. I cant stand eggs and am sick of smoothies, If anyone has any good recipes, for out of the ordinary healthy meals for a sugarholic that's light on carbs too... shoot em my way! Good day to all! Good luck!0
