Unable to flush water from my body

Ok so here is my story
I have been trying to loose weight for a long time. Without any luck. I am 73 Kilos. I have asked the doctor done a couple of tests no luck.
Finally my weight is shifting but very very slow. I am on a low carb low sodium diet. I amt rying to cut salts. I tried a detox diet for a week. What I see is that I am unable to flush water from my system which is what happens when you detox. I drink more than 3 lit water some days and I dont go and pee it out as often as I should with that much water. I drink Green tea regularly that too has not helped acting like a diuretic and releasing the water.
I tried a diuretic from the doctor and had a whoosh. But I cannot take it all the time.
I am not sure what is wrong and what needs to be tested. I feel like the fat in the fat cells have left my body but the water filled in the cells are just not leaving my system.. I have tried numerous natural diuretics.
I am unable to see weight loss trying so hard.
I also do not sweat like droplets of sweat. I tried Sauna a couple of times and still no sweat. I tried Lymphatic massage and no changes.
Please help if anyone knows what can be done.

Low carb and low salt is a BAD idea. You need MORE salt on a low carb diet.

Why are you trying so hard to lose water weight? Do you have a medical condition that causes bloating?12

Inadequate kidney function is an issue to address with your doctor.
If your doctor said your kidneys are fine, maybe stop worrying so much about 'flushing water' since we all carrying a varying amount of water all the time.16 -

I'm not sure I understand what is wrong. Did your doctor tell you that you are bloated or carrying an unusually large amount of water weight? Why do you think you need to lose water?15

Basic questions, how many calories are you eating? Are you exercising? Do you use a food scale? How tall are you?12

You said that your doctor can't find what is wrong. Does that mean that your doctor doesn't think anything is wrong with you or that she thinks there is something wrong but hasn't figured out what it is yet?
When you say that your weight is shifting but very slowly, what do you mean by that? How many pounds have you lost during each of the last four weeks?4 -
I'm a bit at a loss re the water thing too. As the poster above said about carrying unusually large amount of water weight - are you? And how do you know? Are you super swollen? Like ankles and stuff?

If it's just difficulty in losing weight and therefore assuming it's all water's fault, maybe you need to address some of the basics as psuLemon above mentioned.

This is a recipe for an electrolyte imbalance. Increased water intake, low carb and low sodium intake, plus diuretics? Dangerous.
If you want to lose weight, it's about calorie intake. How many calories are you eating?19 -
Oh by the way - I hardly sweat in saunas too. Takes me AGES to sweat. Especially in a dry sauna. In an infrared sauna I tend to sweat quicker but it still takes a good 15 minutes before any sweat breaks out, so don't take lack of sweat in a sauna as a water retention measurement.2

First of all you need water for your body to function. And unless you're trying to tell us that you haven't peed in ages trust me, you are flushing water.
Get rid of the idea of detoxes, enemas and trying to get every ounce of water out of your body. If the weight is not moving you're not in a calorie deficit. If it's moving slowly, you're in a small deficit. That's really what it comes down to. Get yourself a food scale, learn how to use the database here, and give yourself a month of honest tracking. 73 kilos/160lbs is already a low weight. Depending on your stats, dropping more might not be a good idea.14 -
What would be the purpose of "flushing water"? It's not going to make "fat" go away, which is what I assume you want. Trying to manipulate water and oppose what your body is trying to do with it is fool's gold.
What do you think happens to your body when you do "flush water"? You might lose a few pounds.....of water.
Does the result on the scale really mean anything in that case?
It sounds like your chasing everything but the thing you need: a caloric deficit.
I recommend you start with that and not worry about your body regulating its water content. It's designed to do that and you should be thankful that it works that way.8 -

Unless your doctors are actually worried about you retaining fluids, there's likely nothing wrong physically. Psychologically you might have some things to deal with given the extremes you're going through to presumably unnecessarily lose (potential) water weight, but I suspect you're fine physically.8 -
if your doctor said your tests are fine.. you could just be obsessing and have a distorted view of what's going on. Eat healthy.. exercise.. sleep... give things time and you will lose weight.5

Yes, your weight shifted while you were on your week long detox diet not because of the detox, but because you probably consumed very low calories. Now that you aren't "detoxing" anymore, and your eating more again, you are probably eating more than you think. So it doesn't matter how much water you drink. If you are eating too much, you weight will not shift. You have to go back to being in a calorie deficit. Not eating very low calories, just be in a reasonable deficit.7 -
OP, losing "water weight" is bogus in terms of actual weight loss. Water cells do not fill in for fat cells. None of what you're saying makes any kind of sense and I suspect you've been following some nonsense woo-practitioners to believe that losing water is somehow the way to lose weight.
You have to track your calories so you don't go over your allotment, workout, and rest. End of. Misuse of diuretics can cause some nasty issues like kidney stones and electrolyte imbalances along the line.10 -
also drinking a lot of water and not peeing it out can cause big issues too. something called hyponatremia can be deadly. it can happen from too much water but also not enough sodium in your body. your body is made up of a percentage of water.(cant remember the number). you are risking your health trying to do what should NOT be done1

This is one of the strangest threads I’ve seen in a while and it’s usually pretty strange every day around here. You can’t seriously think you have lost all fat and are retaining water and that’s why you look fat?
Like others have said. Let’s hear your gender, height, age , activity level and most importantly your calorie intake that you are no doubt measuring and weighing with a food scale?

60% of body is water i think - a quick Google just told me that women actually have ~55% because we always get the wrong end of the stick in everything.

And true about the drinking too much water thing. 3L is a fair amount of water. More than the "recommended" 2L. There is such thing as too much water.0 -
Holly kittens, your description of yourself makes you sound morbidly obese! But wait. This would require you to be 100lbs overweight! So you can't be!
And to even be obese at 73kg it would require you to be 152.4cm (5ft 0").
Water is not fat, and we're mostly made from water.
Some normal, some not so serious, and some extremely serious conditions can cause water retention and/or edema and associated potential fluffiness, swelling, and/or weight gain.
Your doctor would be the person to talk to about such issues.
They should also clearly discuss with you whether you should be trying your own remedies to change your body's water balance.
Your post concerns me a bit because it sounds as if you have some potentially unhealthy plans for yourself.
A small and persistent caloric deficit balanced between food and exercise is how people who could benefit from losing a little bit of fat can do so in a relatively safe and pleasant fashion.13 -

There are medical specialists who can help you. Go to your GP and get referred to a specialist will likely send you for ultrasounds to determine how much you're retaining. If there's an issue, the specialist may refer you to a PT who specialises in retention.
One of the things the PT will get you to do for a week or so is to meticulously measure how much you are drinking and how much you are outputting. There's a measurement tool for that which the PT will give you.
You'll make a log of it all, total it all up, and see just how much you're retaining.
Then the PT will work with you to retrain your bladder so that you don't retain so much.
Things like childbirth and stress can cause these difficulties.
I'd recommend getting this specialised medical help now before it gets any worse.
Losing weight is another issue unrelated to this.

If OP has seen a doctor and had tests done i think it extremely unlikely she has a problem with water retention.
Kidney function and cardiac or liver issues would of shown up very promptly.And have other symptoms.
If she has bladder retention the water is in the bladder not in every cell of the body - and she would be in acute abdominal pain and again be obvious to a doctor on simple examination
Also OP would have to be very short for 73 kg to be significantly obese.
overweight yes -but with only 20 to 50 lb, to lose, if that, weight loss will be slow.
far more likely there is no medical problem and OP has misunderstood the basics about weight loss and/or what the doctor said.5 -

If you're not consuming salt and yet drinking more than 3 litres of water, you're probably slightly hyponatremic. Salt your next few meals and you should be right.
