Hi All,
I have a fitness power plate and was wondering if anyone knows how many calories are burnt using it on high power for 10 mins?
Thanks

what are you DOING on it?
Just standing there? Yoga poses like it shows on the website? Strength training with resistance bands like it shows?
    It would vary.
I had to google the thing to see what you were talking about, and honestly, you are better off jogging in place for those ten minutes.
If you paid for that contraption, you could have spent that money on WAY better items to assist you in your journey to health....

Actually, the power plate machine is supposed to be very helpful.. My gym has it, and my trainer has put me on it a few times.. not exactly my favorite machine but its not bad.

I'm not exactly sure how many calories your burning.. i'm sure its not many. If you have an HRM, it could prob. tell you a bit more accurately what your burning

Hey, some sites say it burns calories, others say it doesn't... i am inclined to believe that it just helps to tone your muscles to a degree, this is because as your body feels the instability with the vibrations of the plate it strives to stabilize that by tensing the muscles. I do not think that it strengthen your muscles either though, as their has not been enough scientific study into it... i have heard though that its good to help relax and relieve sore muscles!

I love the power plate but it really depends what you are doing. If you are just standing on it, it's not going to do anything. Personal Trainers swear by these machines as they add another layer to your workout. If you do squats, sit ups, press ups, squats etc. on these machines you are doing the same exercise you would on the floor, but you are being put under an extra strain from the vibrations.

10 minutes wont do very much. A 30minute circuit 3-5 times a week however, will help you to tone.
