Yes, it is true. It's one of the reasons people flip out when they start diet and exercise and don't lose weight right away.2

This is true and it hurts to think of how many times I gave up because I started working out and quit because the scale went up and I knew it couldn't have been muscle.
Now I see the number pop up after a good workout and just keep going.1 -
This happened this morning. Went fairly hard for my last lift of the week and the scale was +2lbs. I take it as a sign that I did something right in my workout.0
