Going out to eat tonight & was wondering what the healthier (calorie & fat wise) protein would be. TIA

It's impossible to know without knowing the actual recipe used to make each and the weight of the servings but I would go with the chicken schwarma. Chicken schwarma is usually grilled chicken with tons of spices on it. Gyro meat will have more fat and it will be harder to pin down extra ingredients.1

I would say their nutrition profiles are pretty similar...the chicken will likely be somewhat leaner, but a lot is going to depend on the sauces.0

My question would be does the restaurant provide nutritional stats for their menu?
If not, choose what you like, try logging it best as you can. Maybe eat 1/2 and save the rest for another meal if you don’t have enough calories.
Personally, I’d choose the gyro meat and skip the pita. Just personal preference, I love lamb!0 -
My husband and I adore the mom&pop Lebanese place in our neighborhood.
I choose shawarma instead of gyro and rice instead of fries and keep a close eye on the portion size of the sauces provided. The sandwich version is roughly half the calories of the dinner version, and I’ve found (to my surprise) that it’s sufficiently filling.0 -

For calories it may be the chicken. I suppose it depends on portion sizes being equal and if they are served with the same sauces and toppings.
I eat both foods so I would just choose what I felt like eating more.0 -
As far as fat content of chicken vs gyro meat, check if the chicken is light or dark meat - if it's dark meat, then the fat content would be higher (not sure how it would compare to the gyro meat though).0

Can I ask, what the hell is “Gyro meat”?0
