Despite losing a significant amount of weight I still have belly fat that I would like to reduce. I know that a balanced diet and exercise are both key to this, and that you can't spot reduce. However, I'm unclear whether I need to lose more weight in order to get rid of the belly or if it's more a matter of toning and strengthening. I would like to be clear on what my goal and focus is. Any input?

Are you willing to post a picture? Hard to give any advice without an idea of where you are currently.0

For sure. I'm including a pic. I'm currently weighing in at 136. My lowest (last year) was 120. Like someone mentioned earlier, I find that as I lose weight my body keeps shrinking proportionally but I don't seem to be able to get rid of the belly.

Are you doing any strength training?0
 -
Not currently. I was doing some 2 days a week (a combo of strength with some cardio intervals) as part of a group fitness class from May-Oct 2018. Then I changed jobs and couldn't do the classes anymore. I didn't notice much of a difference in my body composition when I was doing it, but maybe 6 months wasn't long enough. I guess I'm wondering if strength training would do it, or if I should still try and shed a bit more weight.
Edited to add: I definitely know I need to add some strength training to my routine, just struggling to find the right fit.0 -

I'd go with a small deficit and start lifting
