Power to my town went out early this morning so instead of starting my taxes, I cleaned out some drawers and closets.
Then I decided to take a walk. I came across a shopping cart about 2 miles from it's store, so decided to push it and return it. Along the way I picked up any trash I came across. It came to about 3/4 full by the time I got it to the store. I emptied the trash, washed my hands and was going to walk a bit further.
Then I noticed that my phone must have fallen.out if my pocket while bending I over to pick up trash somewhere.
So I hustled back along my route, checking behind bushes and against fences where I had been. I finally found it, such a relief!
This is the 2nd time I've lost and found my phone while picking up trash. I need to remember to put it in my pack instead of my pocket.
We finally got electricity back on about an hour ago, guess I have to work on taxes tomorrow.57 -
Ate two pieces of pizza and stayed within calorie target instead of the usual 6 or 8. Not sure how I feel about that...31

My husband told me I even take up less space on the couch. 😂28

Back in my size 4s after eating too much Halloween and Christmas candy for about 3 months straight. Also have been bemoaning my shrinking cup size but have embraced the bright side - I was able to buy a wire free bra size medium and actually wear it confidently out in public!27

I just got back from a trip and normally my husband has to put my suitcase in the overhead bin...well I've been strength training since Nov 1 and I took my suitcase and showed that *kitten* whose boss, I threw her in that bin easily.41

Good discipline on your part. I do the same thing. Eat two slices. Want to eat four or five. #thestruggleisreal

Bittersweet moment iver the weekend when my "young" (shes 9....) mare outran her mother in the barrel racing arena!
Picked up 2nd place on Gina (mother) in the 3rd Division on Saturday. Shakaya ran into the 2nd Division. Then Sunday Shakaya picked up 2nd in the 2nd Division! Gina was low 3rd Division. That means Shakaya is running around a second faster than her mother (anyone who barrel races knows that a second can be the difference between 1st and last in some instances!) It was almost a second and a half on Sunday!
Our auction raised almost $3000 for epilepsy Queensland!
Took Monday off from any form of exercise because my muscles were sore, it's been a long time since I've ridden so hard! Got back into my morning c25ks yesterday. Still sticking on weeks 1&2. I think when February comes along I'll go up to week 3...
Oh and I'm buying a colt! He'll be ready at the end of April. It's been a long time since I've had a young horse of my own to work, I'm so excited!23 -
I'm a big emotional eater, have been for years which is why I'm the size i am now. Been eating healthier now for about 7 weeks. Today has been a struggle (major family drama = major stress) so i decided I'd treat myself a takeaway lunch. So proud of myself for sticking to a nice salad sub instead of automatically going for the calorie-laden scnitzel wrap and chips. Maybe this health thing is starting to stick!38

I sprinted today for the first time in.....over 10 years I guess 🤔
It was a proper sprint with a long stride 😎 I never thought I could get back to this point.42 -
First time logging here!
I have 2 NSV moments in the past week!
1: My husband went grocery shopping and bought cereal that is more attune to a healthy lifestyl instead of Fruit Loops and Captain Crunch. This is a major step in our household considering we have 4 children to get on the healthy eating train. 5 if you include him. So having him consider this with cereal, which is eaten frequently, is amazing.
2: I am a Marie Kondo addict now. Thank you Netflix. So as I was going through my clothes from years ago that have been at the bottom of my closet, as well as my clothes from the last 2 years, I found some I could fit into and some that were way too big! It was refreshing to try on clothes that this time last year I resigned from wearing ever again!33 -
So this is a strange NSV, kind of.
I fell on some ice yesterday and hurt my knee. Before I gained all of my weight, I would wear a knee brace to support it. For a long time (probably 2-3 years) I was unable to wear it. Fast forward to today, I am able to wear it again. Thank goodness!29 -
I finally was able to add some weight to my overhead press! It's been like a year! 105 lbs.28

Nice!!! It is indeed, the Devil's exercise!9 -
Absolutely terrible afternoon. Not only was I able to be the adult and not join the tantrum fest, but when confronted with three choices—1) stay home and eat my newly baked batch of the biggest most delicious chocolate chip cookies ever and probably drink wine, 2) go out for margaritas, or 3) go to the gym, I choose 45 min at the gym then one skinny margarita with friends and felt way better than I would have after those cookies (which I gave away to my friend for her bday).38

I ran 5 miles in 46 minutes, at least one of those miles was under the 9 minute mark - faster than I have ever been in my entire life ever. And I would’ve kept going if I didn’t have class to get to immediately after.38

Doctor came in during appointment and was impressed with the amount of weight I loss... so tech it has to deal with the scale... but it's awesome getting acknowledged by a medical professional that i'm taking the right steps and it's been great progress so far.38

@gradchica27 good for you! Every time you make a good choice like that, you form new grooves in your brain to keep up those great habits!

I was able to get back on track with deficit eating after a rough week last week (stress at work + period cravings + issues with insomnia = coping with food. It's always a combination of things for me). I think continuing to log, even though I was struggling with eating, helped a lot.31

NSV check in
- I had a day off at the weekend for a night of wine and takeaway with my best friend. Didn't bully myself for living a balanced lifestyle and was straight back to healthy lifestyle the next day.
- Found my cravings for junk food have curbed slightly and am not so bothered when my boyfriend eats chocolate or drinks beer in front of me.
- I completed all 4 rounds on both of my workouts so far this week (even when I could barely walk for doing day 2 )
- Not bought lunch out once over the last 4 weeks and have prepared lunch at home to take with me to work everyday30 -

This is me too so I totally sympathise. In fact for me it's been going on the last 4 weeks (I could only pretend it was period cravings for 2 of those weeks) so you've done well to catch it early. I think you're absolutely right that continuing to log is making the difference. For me too. For example, my cravings tend to be for salt and fat, and while I don't do low-fat even at the best of times (keeps me sated so I love it), that 9 calories per gram adds up quickly. In other words, I have been accruing like 500–1000 calories per day more than my goal, and had I not been logging I wouldn't really have known it because my portion sizes have remained modest. Then I would have put on 'unexplained pounds' and gotten depressed about it.
Now I'm trying to turn it back around and I can see via my log where I should be adding more fibre-rich foods back in to help with satiety while bringing my fat intake back down a bit, etc. I can't say that I'll succeed immediately in turning it around (I tried to turn it around starting yesterday but ... no) but there is a sense of control in having the data in front of me. Logging it all even when the food diary is an embarrassment is key in my opinion.26 -

Too true. And that's my recent NSV. I totally overate yesterday and just logged everything. At least by logging I know for sure how much I went over (and I can actually see it is not as bad as I thought)26 -
Didn’t feel much like lifting tonight at all but dragged myself over to the garage and just lifted a bit lighter than I otherwise would have.
A few weeks back if I didn’t feel like I training I just wouldn’t so this feels like a small victory. Consistency has always been my downfall.29 -
I'm up from walking at a 2.4 pace to a 3.6 pace on the treadmill. I'm trying to get to a jogging pace and it looks like I'm close!28

So far this month I have been getting up (see: dragging my behind) extra early to get to the gym before work. The fact I've stuck it out this long, and the fact I am enjoying getting my workout out of the way early are huge. I am not a morning person, lol. I don't function very well before coffee. I did discover however, that working out in the AM is almost as good as coffee.. Almost. (Don't worry coffee I won't leave you, ) Now a true measure of success will be if I keep this up another month. The last time I went on here bragging about early AM workouts... They didn't last very long.34

Went fancy dress shopping in the juniors department and fit into a smaller size than I ever did as a teenager! I can’t say the dresses were flattering, but the triangle type tops and open backs sure emphasized my shoulder/chest/back muscles!24
