Nope - you need to try the "blood sugar" diet, seeing as that's another Micheal Mosley fad diet. He's like a British Dr. Oz without the medical training.
OP - are you seriously going to take your nutritional advice from a publicist that jumps on every diet bandwagon he can?
Calorie in vs. calories out. That's weight loss. 800 calories is ridiculously low, you don't have to eat low carb, your diet won't shrink belly fat, or cure diabetes. His "proof" is laughable.
Take in fewer calories than your body expends.....period. But I guess that's harder to $ell.7 -
Yes I am and Michael Mosley is a medical doctor.

He trained in psychiatry, not nutrition/dietetics.5 -
Just to add some balance. To train in Psychiatry you have to have completed undergraduate medicine. I agree that neither Psychiatry or undergrad medicine would have substantial (like years) of nutrition training. He promotes evidence based practice and all of his claims are from peer reviewed (often RCT) studies. I don't think its fair to dismiss him for being a Psychiatrist or describe the diets he reviews as "fads", you would have to dismiss many academics and their research in the process. Worth actually looking at the literature. I agree not replicated many times but from reputable academics.6

800 calories a day. That is simply not enough to provide one's nutritional needs.3

People put way too much stock in the title "doctor" as if that means they are some super smart person who knows everything there is to know about medicine. If you are lucky, a doctor will be knowledgeable about their specific area of speciality. But if you've had any substantial experience with doctors, you know that is far from a given. But for these doctors who play far outside their area of specialty whole using their "Dr" title to sell themselves as nutritionally experts, when in reality their not any more qualified than your average accountant or auto mechanic.0 -

When I hear names like this, I swear these things are just made up at random. Boiled egg diet, potato diet, etc. It sounds like it's from The Onion.0 -
