Feeling deflated...

I was feeling o.k. early today. I scored a pair of cute gray chinos at Old Navy for only $2.74 yesterday and wore them to work today. I actually felt cute. I came home early today and changed my clothes. I was across the room, when I saw my new chinos laying over the end of my bed. I could see the pants laying flat with the waist facing me. They look HUGE. I mean, really, really wide. They seem TOO big to fit me...yet they do. I know that I need to rechannel this feeling into motivation for staying "on program". I just can't help feeling sad right now.

Don't give up. In a couple of months you'll look at your pants and can't believe you actually fit into them because they look so SMALL!!!!0

You said it in your post, use those pants for motivation, it's easy to get discouraged, we've all been there, it's what you do next that matters. Your goals seem very attainable. Good luck in reaching those goals and it's ok to get discouraged when you don't think you are progressing enough, you just have to push through and keep going towards your goal.0

Hang in there girl!! :flowerforyou: We all have those days, but you're doing the right thing by acknowledging it and seeking support. Don't let it get you going down the wrong path...kick it in the butt!0

Just take baby steps.. you will get there, don`t feel down ;-)
I`ve lost 3 pant sizes in 55 days and only lost a total of 12lbs...so you CAN do it.
Although my top half isn`t going as quick as I would like ;-((
Just keep muddling through and you will soon see results x0 -
To be fair, all pants look big in very unflattering ways when they're lying flat! It's okay to feel a bit sad about things like that, but you are here and you have made a commitment to yourself to work hard and get to where you want to be, and I know you'll keep going! :flowerforyou:0

you are looking at your pants in 2 dimensions and when flat the look to take up more space in 3 dimensions (i.e. on) they do not look that big i assure you. and like the previous post says if they make u sad/angry use them as motivation to kick them in the butt and get to the next size down. you can do it if i can...keep it up!!!0

Yet you feel GOOD in them! Focus on that first and foremost.
You're here making the effort. You will be rewarded. Don't give up!0 -
$2.74??? Wow! What a great bargain! I wish I could find some transition pants for that price. And, that is what they are - transition pants. With a little more effort, you will be disposing of them cuz they'll be too big soon! So, keep your motivation up and keep doing what you are doing!0

God grant me the serenity to accpt the things I cannot change (The past, other people)
The strnghth to change the things I can (my thoughts and behaviors)
and the wisdom to know the difference!
I started this journey (This time) a year ago in June. I did not get on a scale and I did not look in the mirror. I know that for me these things increase my feelings of defeat and demotivate me. I so totally understand how you are feeling. It will be OK. The mind is a miraculus thing. You have to avoid dwelling on what was and instead chose to focus on what is. Did you eat appropriately today? Did you get your body moving at some point? Focus on that. If you can keep yourself in that mind set you will be amazed at how quickly things can change. This June I was down from too tight 18 to a loose 14 pant size. I can get on the scale now without tears and even tried on a bathing suit last night and looked! (Still scary but SOOOO much better). We are our worst enemy when it comes to health. I am going to guess here that you like me are an emotional eater. If we let ourselves get depressed it is all too easy to say just forget it. You are going to get where you want to go. You just have to put one foot in front of the other for a while and before ou know it your counter will be on the other end!0 -
Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts. I really, really appreciate the support!0
