I m at a stand still with weight, doing 4 gym classes a week and walking everyday . Been doing this for few months now and still not getting anywhere. Been vegetarian to for 4 months

How many calories are you eating per day? How are you measuring your intake?

Well, you just keep saying the same thing every few months.
I guess get back to basics. Log food, stay in calories.
Please open your FOOD page so we can troubleshoot with you.

and none of those things will necessarily create a calorie deficit which is the only need needed for weight loss.
as others mentionned, are you weighing and logging all food-liquid calories?

I was wondering this too. OP-for weight loss it doesn't matter what kinds of foods you're eating, only that you have to be at the correct calorie deficit for your weight loss goals. Nothing in your post talks about calories?7 -

similarly with "clean eating" some of those fancy clean desserts are higher calorie than the original :P (I actually enjoy many "clean" desserts but know they pack a calorie bang to my day and factor that in accordingly!).
Or even in other foods they still add a lot of fat (coconut oil) and nuts to things which really increase cals.

I'm more often vegetarian than not. I find that a combination of caloric intake and whhat time of day I eat carbs...and when I stop eating for the day, determines my weight loss progress. (Huge run-on sentence😂)
I am finding that if I have highest carb before workout, lowest carb w/or after dinner, and stop eating at 730p, I make best progress.
Also was struggling and had to drop from 1400 to 1200 calories a day for awhile9 -

Calorie intake is important for weight loss, but the timing of when you eat carbohydrates or when you stop eating for the day shouldn't have a significant impact on your long-term weight loss trends (unless these things just make it easier for you to consistently hit your calorie goal).8 -
OP, if vegetarianism led to weight loss, I never would've gone from thin vegetarian to fat vegetarian, fat vegetarian to obese vegetarian, and stayed obese vegetarian for decades . . . the last 10 years of which included vigorous exercise 6 days most weeks, to the point of competing as an athlete, while staying obese. I've been vegetarian for almost 45 years! Now, at age 63, I'm a thin, athletic vegetarian.
It's the calories, for weight. Eat nutritious foods you enjoy, whatever those may be. Vegetarianism is not useful, unless you have ethical reasons for adopting it, if you ask me.
Appropriate calories for weight management + well-rounded balanced eating for nutrition + regular exercise for fitness = best odds of continuing long term good health (which is what most of us want, right?)
I'd suggest throwing the occasional indulgent treat into that equation, too, just for the joy of it.

but you still haven't said - are you counting calories? weighing your food? if you are not losing weight that is not what you are doing.9 -

I don't think people are trying to be mean or "having a go" at you. They are trying to get you to face a simple truth - if you haven't lost weight in four months you are eating too much food. Going to the gym and walking are making you more fit, but if you are not losing weight you are not in a calorie deficit.11 -

If it's the protein you're looking to replace, most people do that with foods like beans, tofu, tempeh, and seitan. Lacto-ovo vegetarians will also use dairy and eggs.
I don't think anyone in this thread wants to "have a go at you," it's just hard to help people when you don't know much about their situation.6 -

I became a pescetarian this month and cut out the daily chicken I was eating, along with beef and pork. I've also lost 5lbs this month so far (some maintenance vanity pounds). The weight loss is due to the calorie deficit I'm at (along with better digestion due to the increased fiber I'm at now, 30+grams a day).
Besides fish 3 times a week I eat 1-2 servings of beans every day, whole grains, vegetables and fruit, dairy (the Greek yogurts I use have 14g and 15g of protein in one serving and they're 80-100 calories per serving), nuts and seeds, the occasional egg etc. I've had no problem replacing the meat with other protein sources.3 -
I m having 1500 calories a day before exercise and burning off at least 200-300 a day minimum. Should I cut down the calories back to 12000

Stayed the same for three months now. Was told by doctor to up calories to 1500 but still same0

Ok next question would be how much are you trying to lose and where your weight is at now. Because the issue is either a logging issue (entries you're using could be incorrect and you may think you're eating less than you are, which is not a dig at you), or you have so little left to lose that losses are being masked by fluctuations. As for intermittent fasting being a good idea, I guess that depends on your definition of good. There's nothing magical about it, it's just a way of eating that works for some and not others. Some people find the smaller eating window helps them achieve their goals, and others find it doesn't work. I mean you can try it definitely and see how it goes.0 -
