My son (11 years old) was hugging my hips and said that I am not as squishy as I used to be. And then he added, very seriously, "That's good and bad." LOL41

My gym is a 15 minute walk from my apartment and I always walk. It was 7F and felt like -4 when I needed to go to the gym this morning. I WENT ANYWAY.
Also, my workout was great and I upped my squatting weight to 55lbs.28 -
Rolled out of bed this morning and shuffled into my gym clothes and into the car. I thought to myself "Why am I doing this? I could be in bed right now." I put in my workout, my performance was better then my last workout. I managed to do my 3 minute and 5 minute runs without needing to stop (I wanted to though). I got home after my workout feeling energized and ready to tackle my day. I thought walking in the door " Oh yeah. This is why. "37

After many many months of hip rehab and activity modification, then forearm tendinitis, I finally got back to a deadlift over my body weight (5x135)! Still a good way off where I was 7 months ago, but I felt good!20

The elastic waist belt I use to cinch my dresses is now starting to fall off because it doesn't pull taut enough anymore. This thing used to be pretty tight and cinch pretty nicely.25

Those are important.6 -
1/ When I started working out (at the gym), I could row for about 2 (about 500 meters) minutes. Less than a year later, I'm rowing 2 miles.
2/ I fit comfortably into a Large (down from a 3x/26-28 pant)-shopping is actually starting to be fun!
3/ My BP has come down to 112/68 (from 140/88) and stayed consistent for a year.

The 1st bootcamp session for 2019 was yesterday. I survived it! Not only did I survive it, I actually feel like I done pretty darn well for having 6 weeks off from intense workouts. I even managed to jog most of our warm up. Usually I jog to the corner, then walk until the fastest person passes me on his way back then turn around. Yesterday I jogged to the corner, walked the rest of the way to the grid and then very sloy jogged back to the gym. I was the second last person back to the gym, but I was proud that I actually went the whole way. (Our instructor always said we could turn around once the fastest person passed us on our way back so I've just always done that)
The instructor asked if I'd lost a fair amount of weight. So far I've lost about 7kg, I didn't think it would be noticeable yet, but he said he could definitely tell 😁
Woke up this morning and done w3d2 of c25k. It was very slow! But the important thing is that I kept pushing and finished it off. I opened the mytracks app with about a minute and a half left of my final jog and made myself stay above 8.4km/h for that final part, I was a bit slower with the rest of them, but wanted to finish strong 😁20 -
I have discovered that running in the cold is kinder to the soul than cycling in the cold.
Went out on the bike at midday today, it was about -2 Celsius (? 30 Fahrenheit). Anyway, cold. Wrapped up but by the time I got home, just over an hour later, I was frozen. Literally. My legs were so numb that I struggled to get off the bike, let alone walk. First time that's ever happened. Maybe due to wind chill?
Snow was forecast from 7pm tonight so at 6.15pm, my son said that we should go out for a run. So we did. It was way easier to run, even though the wind was stronger. About halfway through the run, I was toasty warm all over. Really quite enjoyable.
Note to self: thermal leggings ARE required for cycling in the cold. I have to cycle, not just because I love it but because it helps my poor joints that are fighting off arthritis.
We now have snow. Not much though so hopefully it won't stay around long. I can cope with cycling in the snow, the problems start with the ice on the roads. I don't need any more injuries . . .24 -
Slept in until after 6 this morning but still went out for my walk/jog. Done w2d2 of c25k again, working on speed. I was aiming to stay above 8km/hour. I did slip under that in run number 5, but pushed myself and got back above it. Got a stitch after run 3, usially that would be an excuse to just stop and walk the rest of the way, this morning I just paused the app until the stitch went away then resumed it. On the first jog interval, I hit about 11km/h, I rememered getting excited last year for hitting 12km/h on a sprint, it was hard! This morning hitting 11km/h wasn't too bad, I actually hit it without realising it and had to have a second look. I decided to test myself in t the end of my last jog, so with 10 seconds to go I started sprinting. I was huffing and puffing pretty hard and those 10 seconds felt likea minute, but I hit 13.2km/h! So proud, that's my fastest speed on the road to date (15km/h on the treadmill for almost 30 seconds last year) Think I'm going to test my speed once a week at the end of the last jog interval.
I also think I'll stick on weeks 2 & 3 for a few more weeks until I'm doing a decent pace on week 3.13 -
I had to redo my bitmoji and I don't recognize the face anymore 😂 I look different now that my face is smaller.18

1. I started working out to a fitnessblender video.. It was only 25 minutes but it felt terrible:-P compound full body movements and some jumpimg I was not used to.. After losing 22 lbs I can do it a lot easier, I just feel a little out of breath.. That was a huge victory
2. I worked out in front of a mirror and I was like.. Damn child you have some muscles appearing there28 -
I travel on planes way too much. At first it was having tons of extra seat belt left when you buckled up, but now I realize I can actually "swim upstream" in the aisle and pass people if i have too! (the wonders of overbooked flights and lots of luggage everyone carries during the winter)20

I did 25 push-ups today (on my knees but still good for me).32
