New month, new challenge!
Our challenge is to do 10,000 steps in a day. You can do this for any one day or try for the entire month. Jump right in at any time! You can set a lower or higher goal if you wish. Our main goal is to keep activate every day!
It's easy to join - Just post here to begin! You can also jump in anytime during the month, too.
You will need a step counter to keep track of your steps and then post your results daily here.

I am in...used to get easily that many steps a day. This brutally cold winter has really lowered my step count and I need motivation to get it back up.1

Feb 1 -- 96570 -
I’m in. But I’ve got to start lower than 10,000. I’ve got plantar fascia in my right foot. So, let’s say 6,000. And maybe I can raise that during the month. Thanks for doing this!!!1

Year 2 of step challenge. Age 61 ~ desk job M-F ~ I take hourly stairs breaks (3 floors) at work. Goals: average 12,000 daily steps + total 340,000. I'm a walker, not a runner ~ next race Seroogy's Valentine 5K on Feb. 9.Previous Months:
01/2018: Total 341,336 ~ Average 11,010 ~ 1/12/18 Frenzy on the Fox 5K 47:26 & pace 15:19
02/2018: Total 239,838 ~ Average 8,565 ~ sick & recuperating 2 weeks / missed 2/10/18 Seroogy's Valentine 5K
03/2018: Total 430,973 ~ Average 13,902 ~ 3/31/18 Badger State Brewing 10K 1:30:28.82 & pace 14:35 ~ beat < 1:35 goal
04/2018: Total 353,998 ~ Average 11,799 ~ eased pace & distance, fighting off plantar fasciitis, which I've had in the past
05/2018: Total 419,807 ~ Average 13,542 ~ stretches have really helped
06/2018: Total 420,247 ~ Average 14,008 ~ 6/9/18 Bellin Run 10K 1:28:12 split 45:03 & ave pace 14:12 ~ beat goal <1:30Finished 81 of 206 F60-64 / 3,350 of 5,298 females / 6,670 of 9,353 overall. Workplace Step Challenge 4/16 - 8/31 halfway point: place 23/30 women + 26th overall ~ won prize of $20 gift certificate.
07/2018: Total 394,295 ~ Average 12,719 ~ 7/2/18 Packers 5K 44:50 & ave pace 14:26 ~ beat goal <45:00Finished 36/92 F60-64 ~ 1051/1655 females ~ 2029/2903 overall.
08/2018: Total 444,768 ~ Average 14,347 ~ Workplace Step Challenge 4/16 - 8/31: placed 18th for women and 21st overall ~ pick up my prize next week
09/2018: Total 393,786 ~ Average 13,126 ~ 9/8/18 City Stadium 5K for Veterans 44:27 & ave. pace 14:16 ~ beat goal < 44:30
10/2018: Total 450,084 ~ Average 14,543 ~ 10/13/18 Run for the Hill of It 5K ~ part unpaved trail, ends by going UP a steep sledding hill. Goal: beat last year's 48:41 / hill time 2:04. Beat both goals: time 48:13 & hill 2:01with portions of trail wet & muddy due to 5" rain in preceding week. Looking at overall results, fastest hill times (king & queen of the hill) were 0:44 and 0:55, and only 25 out of 267 participants finished the hill in < 1 minute.
