So I hear a lot about fit bit and garmin, even some Apple Watch users. I think I’m leaning more towards getting a Fitbit to help track daily activity and calories burned?
Any paticular Fitbit recommendations?

What types of activities are you doing?0

daily activities (as in not exercise) is usually a decent estimate by any of them - and doesn't require HR info (in fact that usually confuses and inflates the daily estimates until device figures your resting HR out).
Just an ability to adjust the stride length figure so the distance is correct which the calories is based on.
HR-based calorie burn estimate's aren't even best for many types of exercise many are doing now - and not walking or running.
So if only desiring daily activity estimates - perhaps exercise of walking/jogging - get a cheaper Fitbit or other that has no HR ability0 -

I was thinking activity in general, I’m reading that people are literally logging everything they do so it was a question out of curiosity mostly.

Personally, I only log exercise because MFP's "sedentary" includes some activity.
So I don't count walking back and forth to the photocopier at work, or around to the toilets or kitchen ... even if I can rack up nearly 1 km doing that (I checked a few times with a pedometer). If I nip out to a shop or post office near where I work, I won't count that. I also don't count any activity around the house, even though I often get up during commercials to do housework of some sort.
And I often round down with my exercise. So if I walk 2.1 km, I'll log it as 2 km.

And some people just pick a suitable activity setting and let it average out over an extended period of time.
