Keto Question

I have been following Keto for 5 weeks now and just recently feeling super tired by late afternoon and ready for bed by 8:30ish..... I'm up early - workout around 5:30am but have been doing that before following keto. Any suggestions what I can take to boost my energy? I drink a ketologic energy drink before my morning workout...not sure if I should try drinking another in the afternoon.

Are you getting sufficient electrolytes? They tend to be depleted when on Keto and this could cause fatigue. Just looking up the Ketologic drinks and they only have about 20% of the RDA for sodium & magnesium and 4% potassium which wouldn't be nearly enough.
Just as an FYI they're well overpriced for what they are too, it's not necessary to use Keto supplements if you're eating a keto diet, it's just another way of conning money out of people. Your body will produce BHB itself once it adjusts to lower carbs.
You can pick up Magnesium & Potassium supplements in a pharmacy or online from the likes of iherb and maybe just add a little more salt to your meals.

How many calories are you eating?1

Thank you for the tips @tinkerbellang83. I have added Powerade Zero for the electrolytes but that doesn't seem to help much. I'll check out the supplements!0

Are you eating back exercise calories? It might just be that you need to eat a little more to fuel your activity too.

That's pretty low. You might have chosen a weekly goal that's too aggressive. How much weight have you lost in the last 2-3 weeks? You may have lost a lot of water weight in the beginning, but I think it would have evened off by now.0 -
@kimny72 - the first 2 weeks lost 12LBs. Third week gained a pound back and since then losing about a pound or so a week.

Got it. You could try eating your maintenance calories for a week and see if it helps the energy issue. It could also just be your immune system, maybe there's a bug going around you're fighting off? I find that happens to me sometimes, I don't get sick I just get fatigued for a few days, so I try to eat a little more and rest as much as I can. It is that time of year!2 -
Oh, I just noticed you're in the northeast, do you take a Vitamin D supplement? Being in the muck of winter right now, I know my D levels get super low and I need to supplement. Have you had blood work done lately?0

I'm sure Vitamin D is a factor!! I will add to my list of supplements. thank you~0
