Use food scale and eat the recommended serving size for each meal. Weigh yourself once every 2 weeks. I recommend working also. It will speed up weight loss.

Why weigh every 2 weeks? If I weighed every 2 weeks on the wrong sort of day I might see a 5lb gain rather than a loss, even if I had been in a deficit the whole time, which was exactly the reason I used to quit trying to lose weight.
Weighing in frequency is a personal preference and what works for some, won't work for others. I prefer daily weighing as many others do, it helps me better understand my water weight fluctuations, so I don't freak out when I do see a large swing upwards on the scale.
