I'm in!! I've been on this new healthy living/losing/toning thing for about two weeks now. I'm hoping to lose 10-15 pounds by my beach trip (which is exactly one week after Easter). So lets do it!! I'm still learning how to do everything so any help is appreciated!! Counting calories and exercising 6x a week for 30-45 minutes.

While working out is great, it’s all about the calories! I’ve “dieted” and tried to lose weight on and off all through my 20’s (recently turned 30!) and I used to focus 50% on working out and 50% focus on diet. This time I’m pretty much focusing 99% of my energy on what I eat and I am having WAY more success. It’s easier to limit your calories than increasing workouts to reach deficit, in my opinion.

I don’t count calories I just do cardio at least 30mins, a couple times a week. I’ve managed to lose ten pounds that way. It took me about six months months to lose that 10lbs so this is going to be a challenge and half for me to lose by Easter I look forward to it tho. 🐣🐣🐣

My weight loss has been laid back, this time I have to work a lil harder, spend more time on the elliptical.

@sierra_lucy Have you reset your goals recently? When you do that, MFP recalculates your calorie goal based on the new weight you have input into the system. From what I’ve read on here it’s very unlikely for someone to manage to build muscle when eating in a deficit. I’ve never read it’s impossible though. 🤷🏼‍♀️

If you are eating the same calories you were eating at a heavier weight, you may now be eating at maintenance for your new weight instead of eating in a deficit. Our bodies need less and less calories as we lose weight. I guess if you were eating at maintenance it’s possible your body is in recomp which would explain your better fitting clothes.

Another option is just that you are losing, but having some serious water weight retention. That seems less likely since it’s been since October though?

You could also change your scale batteries. I got some pretty wonky readouts before I changed mine out. It gave the same weight for when I stepped on it and then again when I stepped on it with my forty pound dog. So it was clearly in need of a battery change. 🤣

If all else fails, I see a lot of advice on the forums to tighten up on logging and there are sticky threads around to help explain what that means.
