Nutribullet or blender?

I want to start making more smoothies. Is it worth it to buy a nutribullet? I already have a basic blender. Any thoughts, tips, help?

Thanks.

I've used both, and I feel like the only real advantage of the nutribullet is less dishes and ease of cleaning. You can drink out of the cup you blend in, and you don't have to clean out the blender for a single serving. In terms of actual smoothie quality, they are about the same. I tend to prefer a standard blender just because it has more speeds, which can change the texture of the smoothie and give some variety to the meal.

I have a Nutribullet Pro 900 series and LOVE it! I've used blenders in the past for smoothies and they're a pain to clean/take up a lot of space. I always wanted to get into the habit of daily green smoothies but using the blender I'd do it one or two days and then quit.

Bought the Nutribullet on a whim (it was on sale at my grocery store), and I've used it pretty much every single day since for green smoothies :) I love that it's smaller, easy to clean, and the convenience of using the blending cup as the drinking cup (you unscrew the blade and screw on the handle-super easy!).

When my current one dies I'll buy another Nutribullet, no hesitation!

Can you make frozen margaritas in a Nutribullet?** And can you make more than one serving? Just wondering how versatile the Nutribullet is compared to a blender.

**For entertaining only. I'm a bourbon or beer drinker myself.

I've only used it for green smoothies but there's a margarita recipe on the Nutribullet website, so I think you're good lol :) The Pro series comes with a 32 ounce cup, so that would be big enough for 2 servings.

Margaritas should only be drunk on the rocks.

I found the Nutribullet to be underpowered. Spend a little more and get a Ninja or something, be satisfied every time instead of wondering if the ice you added is going to kill your appliance.

Was that the 900? And if I already have a blender, would you bother?

I still have (and use) the original nutribullet and it's a handy little beast, but I wish it were more versatile. Limited amounts are a hassle sometimes.

I had a lot of trouble when making spinach smoothies getting all the spinach I wanted to fit, even with the super large cups. 100g of spinach takes up a lot of space unblended, but is pretty standard size when blended. It worked much better with my ninja.

Yep - I would try to fit what I wanted and just wound up cleaning up the leaks.

If you already have a decent blender, probably not. I don't know which one we had but it burned out a while back and I tried the little "magic" one and it was a piece of crap.

i've had my nutribullet for six years and it's still going strong. i meal prep so i prepare my smoothies in the cups in advance and keep them in the fridge until i need to blend them. I recommend ordering more cups and lids than the original order provides.

had a magic bullet for a while. It eventually started to die so I got a Ninja bullet and love it. Sounds like a jet engine but gets the job done; have yet to find something it won't blend. The option for bigger and nicer cups vs. the magic bullet is a plus.

If you don't use ice or other hard ingredients, I recommend an emulsifier (stick blender). I don't know about a nutribullet, but en emulsifier works better at blending all the chunks than a blender. I just thaw my frozen berries beforehand. Plus you can use it for soups with much less mess and hassle.

I use my magic bullet and have had it for years. I love the size of the containers - I went through a phase where I used it for breakfast smoothies every day! I also find it convenient for blending sauces and other things where my blender is just too big.

No idea how my bullet compares to what you’re considering. When my bullet dies I will be replacing it immediately!
