Hashimotos thyroiditis

Hi. I have just joined my fitness pal and wondering if anyone else suffers with this illness and whether it affects their dieting. Thanks

    Welcome!

I was diagnosed with Hashi's 25 years ago. Lost all the weight I needed to (75 lbs) and have been in maintenance for a few years now.

If you're properly medicated, losing weight is not more difficult than someone without a hypothyroid condition. :)

I was diagnosed with Hashi's in 2016. As long as I watch my calorie in-take and remember to take my meds, it doesn't seem to be any harder than it is for someone who doesn't have it. (I still struggle with my weight, but it's a staying focused / motivation issue, not a Hashi's issue.)

I have been recently diagnosed after 3 years of symptoms. I dont think I am on the right dose yet since still struggling to lose weight, even on a low carb almost keto diet, I am only just maintaining for the most part. Not even 10 lb lose in 3 months. It is a struggle but keep at it.

Going low carb or keto is not a guarantee for weight loss. It's not so much about what you eat, but how much of it you eat. :)

How are you measuring your caloric intake each day?
