What do you work out in?

Just wondering what people are wearing to work out in... I find that in my Zumba classes I'm usually one of the biggest people in the room, and I'm jealous of the cute little Lycra outfits everyone has on, but ALAS, they don't fit me (yet!). I wear stretchy yoga-style capri pants and usually just an old tee, but want ideas from others on workout attire for chubby bunnies. Maybe if I feel like I look better in a workout outfit, I won't care how bad I mess up the Zumba steps!

Thanks :)

shorts and a baggy tee shirt or saggy bottoms yoga pants and a tee shirt or these really hot workout pants that used to belong ot my husband and a tee shirt. Nothing cute at all.

It's more about comfort for me. Yoga pant and tee work fine. If you want a change try on stuff at your local store. If it's comfy and cute...buy it. Goodluck.

If i'm at home then it's bermuda style shorts(from wal-mart) and a sports bar, if i'm out in public then i just had a t-shirt lol and the t-shirt is usually a fitted one because i personally find baggy shirts to be incredibly annoying when working out.

I'm not a big fan of the skin tight pants... I wear cotton shorts, sports bra and a fitted tank top.... I don't look sloppy but I'm not winning any fashion shows either. Wear what makes you feel good about yourself! Go try stuff on....

I say be comfortable and enjoy yourself, just make sure you have good supportive footwear. I remember when I just started working out after the birth of my 3rd child (and a 9-year hiatus) I wore big t-shirts and stretch pants. Eventually as the weight came off I started getting some stretchy tops.

    blessings.

You need dri-fit clothing. Reebok offers great capris, and nice tops. It is important to add pieces to your attire for the gym. If you have to stop before or after you don't want to look like your cleaning house. After Zumba I am a hot mess..hair is soaking wet etc, but the dri fit clothing is still in tact. Start with the lycra pants, and a nice V neck style t-shirt. As you loose, treat yourself to a more fitted look.

PS walmart has a danskin line of capri pants and yoga pants, makeshift dri fits, but they are a start. They run large and wash great. When you look good you feel good! Enjoy the dance, and shake it girl!

    are they glittery gloves?
no glitter, but they do double as sweat wipes...it's 50 freaking degrees in the rink, and I manage to sweat profusely! Heck, sometimes steam rises from my head. Now that takes talent!

    Clothes.

    On a more serious note:
    Shorts or capri pants
Some sort of moisture wicking fabric tee from either under armour or nike.

I try to look cute but if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen.. I sweat like a freaking pig when I work out, and I'm running around to impress anyone.. sorry!

Do me a favor and feel so good about working out.

Do not worry about how you look, think about what you are going to look like.

Use it as motivation. ..and when you can, get one of those outfits you are taking about.

Girl, get in where you fit in.

Dont worry what you look like, the fact you are training is good enough, dont get caught in the "i go to pose and look good" gang!

    Good look and keep going.

At home on my treadmill: Sports bra, and whatever I feel like putting on the bottom. Shorts, and tank if I run outside.

At first i wore....Alil loose workout pants or sweats, sports bra and loose tank or hubby's Tee. :blushing:

And since I've been losing weight, yoga pants or tighter movable pants work great and a not so fitted tank top... its more for a little ego boost versus a fashion show for me..I really don't care what anyone thinks..its how I feel in my workout clothes that makes me feel good inside ;-) And that's how you should feel, not worry about missed steps or what everyone is wearing..because those people that are wearing those things are or were probably once in your shoes ;-) Just know we Luv ya here in MFP! And are here for ya :flowerforyou:

    hey :)
depends on what im doing. for cycling, i wear a pink cycling top and lovely flattering lycra shorts, haha (does ANYONE look good in lycra shorts??)
but for when im doing my wii-fit, or my fitness dvd at home, i just wear a pair of normal shorts and a vest top. i have to admit, if i know no one is going to see me, sometimes i forget the vest and just work out in my shorts and bra, because by god, i dont half sweat!!

I have several pairs fo running capris and running shorts. Most are the moisture wicking compression kind. On top I always wear a moisture wicking fabric....it reduced the prickly heat I get on my chest from sweating.

My yoga pants I wear more like lounge wear as the wide legs tend to trip me up when I exercise. I am not the most graceful person..lol

I agree. Danskin at Walmart is what I started with. The sizes go big and they are comfortable and have lasted me a long time.

Do you wear thong panties so the lines don't show under your shorts?

I really like the Champian workout clothes from Target. They are made of this wonderful material (I can't remember the name of it) that wicks away the sweat so you're not all wet when you workout hard. LOVE that feature. Most of the items are $20 or under, much cheaper than the same stuff in other brands at the big box athletic stores.
