Need to get back on wagon

I lost over a stone last time but keep saying I will start Monday and falling off. Help!

Also how long should it take to lose 52lbs and notice face weight loss?

    Yup. Start right now. This minute! I spent the first week or so just eating as usual so I could see what I was doing wrong. Surprise, surprise I was eating more than my activity level need. Am sticking to my MFP suggested deficit and I've lost over 7lbs in 5 weeks.

    How long depends on where you're starting from. The closer to your goal weight, the harder it becomes so it takes longer than at the start. A pound a week on average means it would take a year- but think about how long it took to put it on in the first place.

    How long until it's noticeable also varies. Depends on your starting size and how observant your family/friends are.

    If you just start logging your food today then that would be a step in the right direction.

    I think fat loss in the face can really vary. I've lost 34 pounds and I think my face looks the same.

    Looking ahead to one weight or one size pants or one look like there's an end date to it all is what keeps dieting cyclical for many people.

    There is no wagon. There are only eating habits - healthful, or unhealthful.

    Use the tools available (like MFP), and form good habits. If you eat the appropriate amount most days, and don't go too wild on the rare off day, you'll lose weight.

    Monday isn't magic. Start gradually remodeling your habits today.

    If 52 pounds loss would put you at a healthy weight, plan on a year minimum, probably more. Use that time to learn and practice eating habits that will keep you at a healthy weight permanently.

    Start today. There's nothing magical about Mondays.

    You can't control where your body takes the fat from, so it's hard to say when you'll notice it in a specific place. I will say that I started noticing my double chin getting smaller fairly early in my weight loss process, but didn't notice weight loss elsewhere around my face for a while. I think this is because most of us do not carry a lot of fat in our faces as compared to around the midsection, so there just isn't as much in the face to lose.

    52 weeks to lose 52lbs. You can't pick where it comesoff though.

    Adjust your plan so that you don't require perfection from yourself and there will never be another reason to stop. You don't have to lose weight everyday you just have to lose weight most days.
