“Our findings suggest that it is not too late for adults to become active. These findings are particularly informative for health care professionals advising individuals who have been physically inactive throughout much of their adulthood that substantial health benefits can still be gained by improving their physical activity habits.”

I guess I should log off and hit the trail, then?
Thanks. Off I go. :flowerforyou:6 -
I’m moving, I’m moving, honest I am .
Got to say, I was a none exerciser until I was 54 and, although it will never be something I love to do, eleven years later I truly appreciate the day to day benefits of choosing to start exercising 5x60 a week.
Never thought I would stick with it so long either.

I try to exercise at least 5 and sometimes 6 days a week.1

I did not exercise until I was in middle age.0

I have a question and I don’t know where to put it. If I play a sport for 10+ hours a week, should I be stretching? And if so, when/how?0

Just go to the top of the exercise and fitness subforum and start a new thread.
You will get better responses than posting in this thread.
Be specific with your routine, personal stats and/or restrictions, and goals.
The question as posed leaves little for the advisor to work with.

Great info, and people should automatically know this.
The biggest cause of immobility is "immobility".
I do at least one activity per day 7 days per week. Even if it's just a 3 mile recovery walk.
I do not want to become one of those people who have fallen and can't get up.
My favorite part of your post is... Get moving everyone!

It's amazing how many people support the idea of immobility because of age. GET UP! LoL6
