When you say results, what was the intended goal?5

Reduce body fat % (and at the same time I’ve lost weight) at least it worked for me I’ve heard that for other people did not worked that well.. I just wanted to share it9
-
So you kept other factors the same, and just added ACV? Same calorie intake, same activity level?9
-
That's great!! I just bought some this past weekend. How do you take it and what amounts?

I drink it twice a day, in the morning I add 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, half lime juice, and just a bit of powder ginger and cinnamon (both 0 calories) yesterday I have added cayenne pepper and so far it has been great, keep in mind I’m kind of new on this and experimenting so not sure if the results are sustainable in time , then before my dinner I drink the same thing8

Good question, lower intake calories and more exercise so it’s a combination of factors, ACV I would say maximize the results6

Is it possible it’s only being in a calorie deficit that’s causing your weight loss? I suggest substituting another 0 calorie food with your vinegar to test it out like diet soda, flavored water, coffee.3 -

No, you lost weight because you lowered your calorie intake and exercised and therefore were in a deficit. You did not lose weight because you started drinking apple cider vinegar... please don't promote this myth.10 -

I would argue that the lower calories and increased activity are helping you see results.4 -

So why do you think ACV "maximized" something? Why wouldn't you give the credit to lower calories and more exercise, for example?6 -
Well, thanks for the clarification as I said I’m pretty new on this and just sharing my results, if there are other considerations to take in count please share it so we all can learn from you 🙂1

Apple cider vinegar is great for weight loss. Sometimes when I've hit a slump with my weight loss, I'll add a tablespoon of ACV to my water to kickstart things again. It really does work, too. ACV helps suppress the appetite, lowers blood sugar levels and keeps everything stable there (no blood sugar spikes), improves metabolism and helps your body burn fat. Added benefit: ACV is a fermented product which makes for a great probiotic, so it helps keep the gut's microbiome in check.24

It may have some health benefits, but weight loss is not one of them.. you lose weight by taking in fewer calories than you burn. if it helps suppress your appetite that may help you stay in a deficit, but I doubt for most people it would even do that
I don't get why one would want to say ACV helped them lose weight... take the credit for staying in a deficit, you did that, not the ACV10 -

Everyone who says ACV "works" does so combined with diet and exercise. The thing is, weight loss isn't linear. Even if you do everything perfectly, some weeks you'll lose 1 lb, some weeks you won't lose anything, some you may even gain. So someone doesn't see a loss for a couple of weeks, starts choking down some ACV, and then when they lose weight next week, they credit it to the magic of ACV. But they were going to start losing weight again that week anyway, that's how real life weight loss works.
ACV would certainly curb my appetite, as I think it's gross and wouldn't feel like eating after taking it
Most of the other "benefits" aren't possible to quantify, so it's easy to say it "increases metabolism" or "curbs appetite" as those are vague, non-scientific claims. I know there is some research on vinegar and blood sugar, but I'm not familiar with it. I'm not diabetic, so it doesn't concern me.
If you like vinegar, I guess it's fine to incorporate some for the placebo effect if you want. But nobody should be struggling to ingest ACV just because Bragg's has a snake-oil genius in their marketing department7 -

You did the hard work by staying in a calorie deficit and exercising! Don’t give the vinegar the credit.12 -
vinegar had nothing to do with this.
the calorie deficit and exercise has everything to do with it1 -
If you like Apple Cider Vinegar, that's great and you can keep taking it. There's nothing wrong with it. But it's not what's causing your weight loss. You are losing weight from having a calorie deficit, caused by diet and exercise. If you stopped taking ACV tomorrow, your results would be exactly the same.
What you are observing is a correlation, not a causation. Meaning that just because you are doing one thing, and a result happens, it doesn't mean that that thing caused the result. For instance, I am losing weight and also eating a lot of hot sauce and watching a ton of Netflix. Neither of those things are causing my weight loss though. It's the diet and exercise. They just happen to be occurring along side it.3 -

I think if you have created a calorie deficit through diet and exercise, your results are likely from that deficit and not the ACV. If you had kept the other factors as controls and just done ACV and seen results, I think you could attribute it to the ACV. Glad you are moving towards your goals, but I don't think the ACV is the reason.3 -
Well, looks like I’m just wasting my time and money with the ACV 😂. I appreciate everybody’s comments so I can learn from you 👍🏻 to improve this journey to get lean as I’m still far away from my goal11

Do you have any legitimate scientific studies to back any of this up?1 -
It works by making a number of low-calorie recipes tastier, so that I enjoy making them instead of something more calorific. It's very good with cabbage and beet recipes. If I'm making a vegan substitute for buttermilk, using a teaspoon of it to curdle my almond milk works well.
But is there anything magical about ACV that assists weight loss? By which I mean, if I were to find some way of neutralizing the flavor, rendering it tasteless (or identical in taste to white vinegar, if I'm looking for an acidic note for the dish), would it still have the same impact? No.1 -

You'll learn a lot by reading the forums. Look for the frequent posters (esp those in the 5,000+). You'll recognize names and see who has legitimate information. ACV is a hot topic around here, along with many others. Follow the threads that promote weighing foods, long term changes to lifestyle, and other sensible, boring advice. Those are the people who have either tried all of the fads and now you don't have to, or they're just plain educated folks who know lots of accurate information. You can learn so much from them. Welcome and good luck!5 -

I think it's awesome that you are the ACV kick! It's your journey that you are on, and if it's helping you reach your goals then kudos to you!6 -

I'm glad you are taking the feedback with an open mind. Keep reading, it can be entertaining as well as educational. As already said, there are some incredibly helpful people here.4 -
Good for you! Stick with what is working. That's the key to this fat loss thing, people try to overcomplicate the process. I use Apple Cider Vinegar for when I have an upset stomach or bloating and it seems to reduce the discomfort.2
