What’s the most calories you’ve ever eaten in a day? I’ll start off by saying mine- 3800. I’m 5’ 4” and female so that felt like a lot of food to me!

I’ve hit 10k before, wasn’t very hard either.

In the 245 days that I've logged all food, my highest day has been 3,450. Before that, I'm sure I had some 6K-7K days. I'm taking a diet break for 8 days starting Saturday while we go on vacation, so I'm sure I'll break that 3,450 record since every meal will be eating out. Still, I plan on logging everything and will get back on it right after we're back. Hopefully not too much damage, but I'm not concerned about it.

At 5'5", age 60+, while in maintenance, I've logged (with a lot of estimating because of circumstances), a few days I'm quite confident were in the 6000+ range (maybe 2.5 x maintenance), and relatively more around 5000.

I enjoy it now and then, structure maintenance to accommodate it, and recognize that with a very rare day of really big intake, my body can't/won't begin to store all of it. (Scale weight consequences are crazy in the short run - week or two - though.)

NBD. In year 3 of maintenance, age 63, BMI 22-point-something this morning. Life is good. ;)

My highest logged day so far is around 2500 calories.... that was going out to eat and having a couple drinks + trying to be somewhat mindful of what I ordered. Before I started caring... I'd say easily 8k... it's horrifying when you look up nutrition facts for meals/appetizers at restaurants and realizing how many I ate when I consider drinks and everything else I would eat leading up to that meal. I definitely appreciate calorie counts ON menus because it makes me really consider my choices more carefully. As others have said, I don't think I would have been so apt to order such caloric heavy entrees in the past... I always assumed they were WAY less calories than they actually were.

No idea, but when I was a teenager and involved in sports I ate like a horse...same when I was in the military. I ate everything and had a hard time keeping weight on.

Physical activity can make a difference when it's a big part of your life. Was just watching someone on youtube whose TDEE post-weightloss was HIGHER than their TDEE when they were 130 pounds heavier because of physical activity.

I completely agree. I have also had some of the opposite surprises along the way. For example, Steak & Shake...their triple steakburger with no cheese is under 600 calories and it is not "healthy" with all that fat, don't get me wrong...but it fills me up even for hours of hiking. I get it with pickles, onion, lettuce & tomato and feel like I am feasting. If I had to guess, I would have thought it was around 900-1,000 calories.

Yes...my TDEE is higher now at 183 with regular exercise and physical activity than it was when I was 220 Lbs.

Somewhere in the 12K range 😬 My absolute favorite thing to do occasionally as a teen was to polish off a container of cream cheese frosting with a box of Vanilla wafers. I would be SO SICK after but I loved it haha. But...I’ll never do it again now in my 30s as I think it’d kill me 🤣 Of course my sugar binge needed to be balanced with starchy stuff so in the same day I’d also eat things like pizza (with full fat ranch), fries, etc. I’m not sure why I would set myself up for the kind of suffering that followed after!
