Just doing it for *kitten* and giggles before I get preggo for my second baby.
I have addictive personality. I'm getting addicted to the gym.6 -
My mom was the hot mom when I was going through school so I want to be the hot mom for my kids7

My petty reason is to say *kitten* you to the doctors that have neglected me again and again. An undiagnosed coeliac all my bloody life until at 18 it was found I had gallstones! I’d complained of stomach issues “you’re fat”, I had ambulances at my house from severe pain “you’re fat and a dramatic teenager” I want to say *kitten* You to every last one of them!19

So that somebody else can be the fattest woman in the room for once.12

My petty reason is I come from a big family. All my sisters are big so it’s nice to be the smallest. Also when I meet my fellas mates, I want them to be like ‘wow that’s your fiancé!’5

Kinda superficial, but, want to be able to fit into my old t-shirts and jeans again and be able to show off a little physique and muscle.7

To fit into the several pairs of pants I bought when I thought I was slimmer and in better shape than I actually was 😅9

I want to cosplay as Kim Possible for Halloween this year, so I would like to have a semi-decent midriff.9

My petty reason is to just fit into the skinny girl clothes from when I lost weight 5 years ago, and of course to get some new stuff and not feel fat while I'm looking for it!
And this is my long term one but I promise I'm not a horrible person: I have to prove to myself that I won't turn into my mother. I just can't face that outcome.10 -
My petty reason is that I like being noticed again. For some reason when you're a big girl you become invisible when amongst a group of men. Don't get me wrong your size shouldn't matter but it does. People definitely look at you differently and your opinion on stuff becomes irrelevant15

Love this thread - great to have a place we can be petty yet supportive of each other! I’m 41 and mom to a 13 year old. I live in an area where the moms at my daughter’s school are insanely attractive. They are wealthy and it shows in their looks, physique, clothes, etc. I want to not feel so frumpy next to them.11

I too have always been the black sheep. I gained a lot of weight after some life changing tragedies happed in my life. My sisters have always been small. I hated being pitied as the damaged one.
I’ve lost almost 60 pounds now and am 4 away from my goal. Now my mom just keeps asking if I eat!🤦🏻♀️ what’s wrong with everyone?! My sister I think is jealous now but won’t say anything but “ I think you’re smaller than me.” Can’t anybody just be happy for me? Will I always just be the damaged one??18 -
i want people to talk about me in a good way7

My petty reason is to not be the fat chick at work. A co-worker that used to be 105lbs started to gain weight when she stopped smoking. She looks healthy now, but complains about being fat all the time. If she thinks she's fat, imagine what she thinks of me! I have at least 50 lbs on her.10

TO look good and to be able to be active (hike, swim, whatever) in Hawaii for our 15 year wedding anniversary where I am lighter than my husband as well.8

revenge.15

One of my reasons is probably more mental than petty. Losing so someone would find me attractive enough to actually make me their wife.26

My reasons to maintain are to keep fitting into my extra small clothes and my size 4-6 jeans and miniskirts and minidresses and all of the skintight workout gear that I wear and to look good in all of it and to keep getting checked out. As long as men aren’t leering, disgusting or nasty about it, I don’t mind being checked out. I also want to maintain my flat stomach and thinner thighs. I have a picture of one of the Victoria’s Secret Angels as my phone’s wallpaper to help motivate me. That’s my ultimate body goal.
I also refuse to be the crap stereotype of the fat American.6 -
I want to be the “hot mom of 3” at the beach again...instead of feeling like a beach whale.🤷🏻♀️12

I’ve always felt chubby and struggled with self-image issues my whole life and as an adult it’s even worse. I want to feel 100% comfortable with me and happy with me.10

I thoroughly and passionately hate myself for weighing more than my husband does.18

Oh, and another one--I'm disabled from a car accident. I don't like having it assumed that the ONLY reason I use a cane is that I'm too fat to walk. On bad days if I have to use a motorized shopping cart, I don't want it assumed that I'm just being lazy and don't want to put forth the effort to walk around in the store.12

This was me too until my husband gained weight and then we both felt gross.
My superficial reason is to be able to shop at the local thrift store. Somehow all the nice clothes are size 6 or 8. The bigger you get, the more ratty and out-of-date they are. I think the Target donates new clothes so the size 8s still have tags on them.6 -
Sex!! My husband won't talk about it but it doesn't happen anymore and think my weight has a lot to do with no action. Pissed off about the situation.14

My upcoming 30th high school reunion.9
