For me, MFP has taken 40 calories away every 5 pounds. I started at 1590 and was adjusted down to 1510 after losing 11.4 pounds. I'm due for an update in the next week or so and expect MFP to reduce it to 1,430.2 -

Mine definitely auto-adjust when I update my weight.
I started in June at 140lbs, 1370 cal/day and as I've logged weight loss, it has slowly moved me down 10 - 20 calories at a time to now 126lbs, 1290 cal/day. I figure when I get to 125, it'll auto-adjust again to 1280 because that's how its been going. I've never manually adjusted the calories.
Do you have MFP premium? I'm asking because mine did not automatically update and I use the free edition.0 -

What are your stats and current calorie goal? You can't go by what anyone else would do because they may not have the same stats as you and could be in a completely different place in their journey.0 -

If your calories are set very low, you may want to consider increasing them not decreasing them. As a general rule, 1200 is the minimum for the vast majority of women, and even that may be too low for most.

My stats are 5’3 and currently 152 pounds. Goal weight is my prepregnancy weight of 127. My maintenance is around 1,600 give or take. MFP has me set at 1,200 calories.0 -

Generally, as you get closer to goal weight, you need to slow down your weight loss rate. I would keep it at 1200 and let your loss slow down gradually on its own until you are at goal weight.3 -

I've lost calories on my birthday too.. Another one is coming up soon.2 -

This.
Also, as you get closer to goal and your deficit continues to evaporate you will not have as much margin of error on logging so if you have not already now is a good time to really nail it down.0 -

I plan to live long enough that my calories end up being zero.

I just checked... At my current stats I only have to get to 520 years old for my TDEE to be around zero.3

Just adjusted mine. 30 calories less a day after about a 5lb loss.
Least fun reward for losing weight ever2 -
I currently have a lot more to lose and am sitting at an average of 4.8 lbs per week (down 29lbs in 42 days. SW - 457), I figure I wont change my calorie goal until I'm under 1 lb per week, then I'll consider a revamp based on how happy I am with my current progress at the time. I'm sitting at a goal of 2500 calories. Most days I'm under by a fair bit, but some days I'm over. If this is the caloric goal I stick to for the rest of my life, I'll be pretty happy.0

No. My account was initially opened in 2012 so maybe it's a thing with older accounts?
It happened today: I logged my weight as 125.6 and took new measurements and it dropped me another 10 calories so I didn't even get to 125.0 before losing another 10.
Apparently I am headed all the way down to 1200 which I feel like might be difficult for me.

Same with me. I just added a 3 pound loss and my calories were cut by 30 . So it does auto adjust. Maybe it's a setting people have to turn on.0
