Is it worth it to upgrade to Premium!

Depends on what your goals are and what you would be using premium for. The free version works for many, but some like to have the added options. Have you looked at the features it offers to see if they are something you would use?

Yes, and I'm not sure I need them. Was just wondering if there was something I must have that would help in this journey.

I only went with premium because the ads bothered me. Lately - I’m more peeved that the app is so buggy when so many people pay for it!
    I’ll probably downgrade soon.

I have premium. It is definitely not a "must have". I enjoy being able to turn off exercise calories since I do TDEE, and a few more features that I'm not honestly not 100% sure if they are premium or not. The biggest benefit is no ads. But I don't really think it is necessary for most people on this site.

I got premium as s reward for myself. It’s useful paying attention to enough fiber and protein, but not essential.
It was a “lost the first 15 lbs” award. The bargain is that I MUST measure and log everything.

Not a must have. Plenty of people are successful without it. There are features that some find helpful. AdFree is one advantage. Being able to set different targets from one day to the next is another. You can change what you are tracking through diary settings, so if you want to watch fibre rather than sugar, you can change that on the free version. If you want to change any of your macros (for example increase protein and decrease fat/carbs) you can also do that on the free version, in 5% increments. For many people that is close enough. I have altered all of these things as well as overriding the calories it gives me (prefer a higher daily target) all on the free version.
