Noom vs. MyFitnessPal

Options
Hi there! I’m just starting MyFitnessPal, switching from 100 days on Noom. Has anyone else done this? I’ve heard good things about MyFitnessPal and am hoping I’m doing the right thing. I had success with Noom, losing 26 pounds, but I think what I like about Noom is done better with MyFitnessPal.

I did Noom but quit about the same time into it as you. I felt that it was behaviorally very sound and the information and structure during the first 3 months or so were excellent.

I thought the value fell off when they started recycling material. I did not think the "coaching" was worthwhile at all and the "community" element was pretty weak.

Not at all disappointed with it, but left when I thought I had gotten all I was really going out of it and opted to continue with (free) MFP. Certainly not worth renewing after the initial period, in my opinion.

I'm trying to make this decision now. I like Noom, have had a good experience and lost 35 lbs (80 days in) attributable to my time with it. I've had MFP for years but have never used the community.

My issue right now is that there are only a few active users in my group so the conversations are limited. I love what i see here at MFP but haven't gotten comfortable yet.

I’m currently in week 13 of Noom. I’ve had great success (lost 32 lbs so far) but my group experience has been non existent. No one in my group participates and I don’t really feel the goal specialist is worth the money. I’m glad I have done Noom because it gave me the kick in the butt to get serious about weight loss but I won’t be renewing my subscription. I am 15 pounds from goal and I will do maintenance here.

Never heard of it before, but it seems to be a paid App. My Fitness Pal is free, and appears to work well. Seems a no-brainer to me.

I feel the same way. I’m on week 4. I feel like it’s giving me a really solid foundation to start, but have been underwhelmed by the goal specialist.

My does participate, but its not like I expected it to be. I was expecting more of a support community rather than just mostly responses to tasks and questions.
