Haha, myfitnesspal has a censor for particular curse words. It replaces them with *kitten*. I think it was originally a joke but continued on nevertheless. I like it, lol.1 -
So...I vape now. However, I was completely nicotine free for over 5 years. I quit using Chantix. The best advice I can give is just take it a day at a time. Replace the cigarette with a healthy addiction. I replaced smoking with running. Don't worry if you slip up here or there, just keep going and eventually you will be completely nicotine free. The first three days are physical, the first three weeks are habit. The three week mark is where it got easier for me.0

You've made a great decision!! Congrats! Most people gain weight when they quit smoking, because they replace it with a lot of sweets and high calorie food. Just try to be mindful of what you are putting in your mouth... reach for celery and carrot sticks before the chocolate bars and chips. The habit of hand to mouth gets satisfied that way. Also sugar-free hard candies can help. Chew on straws cut to the length of a cigarette or toothpicks. Salsa weirdly enough helps with the cravings too. Keep yourself and your mind busy - even if its playing a quick game on your phone during a break when you don't feel like doing much. Keep a list of all the reasons you want to quit close by and handy. Refer to it often when things get tough. Remember as hard as it may feel like it is - its one decision at a time, one day at a time. Don't focus too far in the future - just focus on getting past that next craving and the days will really start to add up. And if you gain a few pounds in the process - you are still doing a great thing for yourself, your body, and your health. It is much easier to shed some weight than to fight off cancer! There's an app called QuitNow - they have a great support community on it. Sometimes you have to look past some of the negative childish internet trolls, but if you ask for help, there's always someone there give you some tips, or talk you through a craving. Good luck with your journey! N.O.P.E - Not one puff ever!

I quit smoking on Feb 1st 2018. I had an over 30yr long habit, smoking half a pack a day. I quit using chantix and it was for sure the best decision I have ever made. What I gained in pounds was nothing compared to what I have gained in quality of life back. I am able to breathe again, my skin is better, my hair is better, my nails look better. It gives you control again over your body. Cigarettes no longer rule me. Also the extra money is really nice to!!! Good luck on your journey

Thankyou all for your replies, you have all been so helpful, I have bought some patches and going to vape, but have an appointment to possibly get the tablets as heard they are the best way. I’m going to replace my smoking by actually using my treadmill or I’m just going to go out the house. I will fight hard then deal with any weight gain when I’m fully over my cravings. Thankyou all2
