Pescatarian eating tips? Do I need supplements?

Pescatarian help please 😊 I’m on day 4. What are your fav meals? What should I be eating to make sure I get all I need? Iron supplements??

You can get your iron from plants (dark green leafy, beans, nuts/seeds, grains). Determine how much you are getting from your diet before you add a supplement. If anything you would need a B12 supplement.2

A pescatarian diet doesn't inherently need any supplements. You can get iron from the food you're eating, just as non-pescatarians do. If you're worried about your iron intake, you can get it checked during your annual checkups. I wouldn't supplement iron without partnering with your doctor first.5

You should make protein and fat your first priorities. Just because you eat fish doesn't mean you eat enough of it to satisfy your protein requirements and fat can be easily overlooked during a change like this.
After knocking out the big parts of the puzzle then you should review the smaller pieces.2 -

Thanks for the food suggestions!! Do you know how much iron is the right amount? I will look on my previous MFP days for some kind of accurate iron levels. I just bought B12 so that’s perfect0 -

Is that based on MFP? First, you might want to double check your database entries. Not all of them have correct iron information, so it is possible you may be getting more than that.2 -

If you're concerned about B-12 and iron, eat clams and sardines.
Most of the fish we eat is just pan fried in butter but we have access to very fresh fish. I like to make fish picatta or a fish Veracruz. Many recipes for either can be found on line. I also like blackened fish and use a homemade Emeril's Essence (recipe available on line).1
