    Do you have specific questions?

If you want a general overview, searching on Google for "holistic diet" gives websites with the basics.

Yes, I agree with seska422. Eat the food you want to eat, try to get good nutrition and eat a little bit less than what your body needs to maintain its current weight - and you lose weight. You could eat all vegan or you could eat Keto or organic or all McDonalds. It's still about calories.

The "natural" way of losing weight is strictly eating less. Consuming less calories than your body burns is the way it works.

Doing this with a "holistic" approach does not really help the weight loss, except that you do end up cutting out a bunch of higher calorie foods. This does not make these foods "bad". Just too high in calories for you to be able to pig out on if you want to lose weight. Just because some foods do not exist in nature does not mean they are bad.

This is a common example of the "natural is better" fallacy. Just because it occurs naturally means it's better. It's really not the case at all. Nature has no obligation to supply us with everything we need to survive or to give us perfect foods. Any food that is deemed safe and has naturally occurred has come about by chance, many of which are then farmed and improved upon by people using selective breeding and modification. There are many natural plants and organisms that are dangerous, toxic, or unsuitable for consumption. We just never hear about them because we have already deemed them unfit to eat.

Modern foods undergo rigorous testing and study to determine if they are safe or not to the best of science's ability. Many fruits and vegetables we eat today are completely different than they were before humans had a hand in them. Even before modern genetic engineering, weve been altering plants to suit our needs.
