Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I've gained a bit of weight over the winter and I'm trying to get back to my comfy range between 140-150. I struggle the most with drinking wine in the evening and also eating pizza/bread when my husband does. Looking forward to staying accountable with you all! I don't weigh myself every day, but I will try to get to a scale to use it each week.8 -

How long in maintenance: I reached my goal weight about a year ago, but kind of bounced around for a while.. it's taken til now since the beginning of the year to be getting consistent weigh-in's in the range I want to be in. So, I'd say only within the last couple weeks I've officially been in maintenance

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I had a hard time getting to the gym this week, only made it once.. did a few lunch time workouts, just couldn’t find the motivation to really get into it this week. I had a lower calorie week, but I found that having so many calories leftover at 8pm lead me to over-snacking.. so I gotta watch that. I need to up my calories during the day so I don’t feel the need to mindlessly snack at night. Glad I stayed within my range though, even after enjoying a few treats.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week:
Struggle - officially out of my maintenance range again, but I suspect water weight from the half marathon and TOM soon.
Onto the successes! I have three for this week -
1. Completed my Half Marathon 3 minutes faster than last year on the same course. Weather was mostly good though it started to downpour as I approached the finish line.
2. Rode my bike to and from my job (9 miles round trip) for the second time since moving to the city and I really enjoyed it. Makes me glad I moved closer. Looking forward to this warmer weather so I can make it a habit. My goal is to fill my gas tank only 1x a month as I plan to walk/bike everywhere in the warmer months.
3. Peanut butter is my weakness. I’ve learned to have control if I buy the single serve cups at 250 cal each. This week, I bought a full jar (very small one) and managed to use it the entire week for dog treats without even once indulging in the jar personally. I am back to single serve cups for now because I didn’t want to stretch my luck, but it’s good progress to make these truces with food.
Have a great week, everyone!15 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I had one weight at the high end of my maintenance range (today), but that was expected as I had Thai food and a couple of desserts last night. I'm a little over one year of maintenance now, and weight fluctuations are not bothering me quite as much as previously, which I count as a success.
I'm a few months into my maintenance strategy of doing slight deficit/surplus weeks depending on the week, and it's going well so far. My food routine (for lack of a better word) has evolved in a way that banking calories long term for multiple different weeks is now my norm. This is a result of several reasons why I'll be eating out/going out more often than I previously did - a friend (who also loves food) will be in town for a few months; a "restaurant club" of sorts with some old friends; and my favorite fancy doughnut shop has decided to do a pop-up at work where they'll be coming in for a week at a time over a few upcoming months, with different flavor offerings each day (so, naturally, I plan to get a doughnut every day each week that they're there). Therefore, I've gotten a bit more organized/efficient and have been using a Google sheet spreadsheet to auto-calculate surpluses and allot them to several upcoming weeks where I anticipate a surplus will be useful. For example, over April and May, I've got two planned surplus weeks for the doughnuts at work, and one planned surplus week for when I'll have a dinner one night at a 20+ course tasting menu restaurant.14 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: This is my first week on Maintenance. I'm learning a lot on what I can eat and not eat. I'll eat the items I can't eat but will only eat them on occasion. What's worth eating as well. I kept below 160 so far. I'm pretty conscientious about what I eat now. So far the motivation is there to maintain. I hope to keep it down below 160 as much as I can. My struggle this week is to incorporate exercise.12 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: It was a successful week, both in maintenance and in general, though I feel that balancing calories may have occupied my mind a little too much. The family is out of town this weekend, and I decided to bank enough calories to eat lots of pizza and dessert while watching a mindless movie last night, as well as for a party at clinical tomorrow night (I'm tempted to call calorie banking IF, or intermittent feasting ). My daily net was probably a little too low (more than 500 calories per), but that's partially due to a good exercise week in which I ran 4 miles more than usual and had several 20K step days. I'm still a bit under range but I expect that to nudge up by Monday.
I do feel that it took up a little too much of my attention over the week, particularly in terms of building up last night's splurge in my mind as a "reward". Either I need to get better pizza, or better yet, not make the opportunity to splurge the focus - instead, just have it fit into other happy things that are going on. This seems more the case with the party tomorrow night. The food's not the focus, but having lots of extra calories banked lets me enjoy what's there while also enjoying everyone's company.
Mini-success: I just noticed that I have over a year streak of logging. Consistency has always been hard for me, so that's a little win.
Have a great week, everyone!8 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: so far, none, really. But I know they’ll creep up. I’ve gained and lost the same 30-40 lbs for years. I want to maintain my weight for good. I find that the long-term maintainers here have a few things in common: they measure and track everything they eat, they exercise regularly and they weight themselves often. I’m looking forward to learning more from everyone on here!8 -

Successes/struggles: It’s been a good week! Managed to get in plenty of exercise with two great boot camp classes, two 10k runs and some home workouts. Eating enough to fuel my activity and finding more balance in maintenance. Struggles: Still having occasional days of uncontrolled eating (binge is such an ugly word )
Success: But ... have held a very stable weight for the last two months. Still, would like to get to the point where my days that are significantly over plan are intentional. Am trying to pay more attention to sleep and also to making sure that I am eating enough (my suspicion is that the bad days stem from being overly tired or overly hungry). The good news is that the weather has FINALLY started to improve, which means more time outside in the sunshine!!6 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Good week counting calories overall. I got my biometric screening for work including blood tests back. All my markers are dead center of the healthy ranges from glucose to cholesterol, BMI and Blood pressure. Not bad for 1 50 year old who has been overweight is whole life.
Now calculating my exercise at 100% of what MFP says, up from 50%. Hopefully will stabilize the loss as I continue to work on recomp. I don’t think I should push below 150.
Working to eating write at my allotted calories in the coming week 1980 plus 100% exercise.
Fun fact I was 202 pounds a year ago March, which for me at the time was close to my goal at the time of just getting under 200. Wow, what a good year for my health!!!

I am so sorry to hear about Henry. I miss my buddy every day. I know how difficult this is, and I know it will affect you at random times for quite a while. What a good kitty life, though -- 23 years of love. When you miss Henry, think of all the good times whether it's chasing moths or laying in a sunny window. You'll even the annoying things. So sorry to hear this sadness. You will get through it, but it's not easy.

Success of the week: Commuted by bike three of four days this week. Replaced a rear tire on the bike which is a bit of a pain because it has a roller brake and internal hub shifter cable that both have to be disconnected. I seem to be maintaining my weight right near my goal even though the seven day average is slightly up today (scale weight jumped up Tuesday and again today).
Struggle of the week: I'm feeling pressed for time lately as I prepare for some river trips and at work have to pack my office into boxes this week so they can paint over the weekend and then unpack. I have several special projects with short time frames, and I now have less time to get it done. Warning to self: Stay mindful of emotional eating!5 -
Thanks mtaratoot this is not the first time I had to put a fur baby down they were hard also. Henry was the longest time I had a pet which I think is making him the hardest.7

Success/struggles of the week: i couldn't exercise at all this week. Had a bike accident, was hit by a car. Could barely walk. So all things considered, good week. Had to adjust my snacking, missed all the food i can have with cycling, lol. Also, looking back a year ago at my weight range, it's all kind of repeating itself a year later. Interesting, because it frustrates me to an extent, to have higher weight after holidays, but seems to be going down as the year progressing. So be it. I'm happy with my maintenance. Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: My weight seems quite stable, though I struggle with daily fluctuations, but it's mostly just in my head, nobody knows that I'm 59.2 or 57.4 kg at the moment, so I still have to learn to let go this bad feeling... My weight was up again this morning because of the weekend binges but I know that the waterweight will drop in a few days and it will even out again.5 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: My trend weight is the same this Monday as it was last week. We had a busy weekend with a party so it was up a little, but is coming back down. It is still hard to get used to not always going down and being good with that, but I know that my weight is right where it should be and I am really happy about it.
@pkweier I'm so sorry for your loss. Twenty three years is a long time.
@icemom011 That is so scary! I hope you are recovering well.

Success / Struggles: I'm exercising more and eating a bit less, but I haven't seen the scale reflect these changes yet. I am hoping to get back in range soon because my clothes feel a little snug. As a shorter person, I find a few pounds tends to affect how my clothes fit. I am going to add some toning exercises to support my routine.7 -
So sorry about your cat, @pkweier. I can't imagine how difficult it is after sharing your life with him for so many years.0
