Wow! This is why I’m resetting my goal! I wanna be like you, girl!6

You look incredible! Can I ask how tall you are, as 131lbs is around my goal?2

Sorry I meant to post this in the progress pictures only bit but I’m rubbish at social media 😂 I’m 5 foot 7ish. I really credit MFP for re-educating me. The final 14lbs I lost on Fast 800 in 33 days. I usually hover at 10 stone to 10.5 stone. Onto maintenance for me which is scary - I know how to gain, I know how to lose. I’m not sure I’ve ever managed maintenance properly. Thanks for your kind words ❤️11

Wow you look fab, I bet you feel amazing! I’m 5ft7ish too and have about 100lbs to lose, seeing your transformation is really inspiring.2

I'm starting where you're at and would love to lose the weight. Here's to trying again. Any secrets you could share? What was your eating plan?2

Great job! You can do the maintenance.1

You’re all being so lovely, Thankyou. It’s nice to have somewhere to share this. I wish you all luck on your journeys.
My 3 rules for the first stage of weight loss were to weigh myself everyday, log every mouthful, and stay to 1200 kcal. Sometimes I averaged 1200 a day over a week, to accommodate a night out or just weekend treats. I got quite far with this, down to 10 4lb from 14 stone in 8 months. I don’t always make the best choices but i measured kcalories accurately. Even if some days it was 1200 kcal of bagels and chocolate! (Not endorsing this as good choices just being honest)
But I would lose my focus, stop tracking, logging weighing and wouldn’t get much further. But I never got higher than 10 stone 10lb even when off plan for a few months.
The last 14 lbs of weight loss started on 23 Feb this year. I adjusted my kcal down to 800. It took 33 days and was not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. Tips would be, make yourself a motivation video (cringe!!!) I did one and one midway through. And one at goal. I also had a notebook to write my feelings in when I was wobbling and wrote every day. Reminding myself that although I was hungry, I could definitely eat - just not yet! Having an item of clothing you want to get into. Reframe any negative thoughts - because you can do this. In fact whether you believe you CAN or you CANT you are right!
Before I started, I didn’t truly understand the relationship between kcal and the fat on my body. I just didn’t. Once I started seeing it like a bank account, and understood calorie deficits = weight loss it all seemed so much more doable. As though I was in charge.
Thanks again, and all the best to all of you on this journey. Xx11 -
That’s inspiring! All your hard work has really paid off. Congratulations 👏👏👏2

Great Job!!
I have the same starting weight. Can you please share which foods you typically ate and your exercise routine?
Thank you0 -
In my initial weight loss phase, I got a dog. Accidental 1 hour of exercise each day right there! I can honestly say I was completely and totally inactive before then. Once I was about 11 stone I introduced some T25 HIIT, about twice a week (but sporadically)
In the final phase at 800 kcal did no exercise except dog walking. I now plan to introduce t25 back, but this hasn’t happened yet. I think the reason MFP worked for me is that could still eat what I wanted, but less of it. Previously I had tried diets with recipe plans but found them too prescriptive- and rebelled. In my 800 kcal phase I relied heavily on ‘cook’ meals -I’m U.K. based. They have lots of frozen ready meals for 2-300 kcal so I could have 2 meals and a snack for 800 kcal. I don’t eat meat so they were mainly veg based. I would love to say I ate healthy nutritious meals throughout - and sometimes I did! But as long as my kcal were in budget, that was my focus.5 -

Ah, your post resonates so much with me. I gained 4 stone with each of my two children. Sounds to me like when you’re in the zone, you know exactly how to lose, what an accomplishment. It’s nice to reward yourself at each milestone too. Good luck, you got this!1

What got you here? Logging on this site? Increased activity?0

" I adjusted my kcal down to 800."
Per day?
That's dangerously low. Is this under doctor's supervision?3 -
The blood sugar diet / Fast 800 is based on intermittent fasting. It’s not suitable for anyone who has had eating disorders in the past but not vastly different (IMO) to VLCD such as Cambridge or Exante in terms of calorie deficit. I believe 8 weeks is the maximum length advises without a break. It’s been shown to be highly effective in reversing the effects of type 2 diabetes - which I don’t have so not applicable to me. It’s becoming quite mainstream I think - although weight loss techniques do always seem to go in and out of favour. I didn’t have or need any medical supervision as I didn’t have any prior health issues or side effects.
I would say MFP has been the life changing factor for me. The rules of weigh myself every day, log everything, stick to calorie goal - be that 1200 or 800 kcal per day. I plan to do a couple of 800 days per week going forward as my maintenance. I just turned 40 last week so for a couple of weeks I’ve just been going with the flow and have not been monitoring at all. But as of Tuesday all celebrations are over and I will crack on again!1 -
Congratulations! Your journey sounds quite similar to mine, also 5'7'', 198lbs starting on 1st Jan this year, and goal is 138, I am currently at 158 on 1200/day it's great to read inspirational stories like yours, congratulations again and thank you for sharing.3

Way to go! I am also on 1200 cal diet, although I don't weigh my food, I mostly estimate. I am 10lbs away from my goal weight. 5'2, current weight 130.
I also eat junk sometimes but stay on my cal goals no matter what. I don't share my diary because I am embarassed that I ate 5 tacos for lunch some days or that I ate 10 kisses at night when I am at work.
Anyways, I can't reduce my calorie less than 1200 so I switch my work out to 1 hour cardio 3-4x a week max 5x a week then weight train after.2 -
Thank you for your post and tips.. Very helpful. x You look amazing & many many congratulations.1
-
What a transformation! Congrats!
I used to be obsessed with the scale, weighing every day, usually multiple times. I decided that this go around I would try to weigh only once per week or less. It's working better for me.
I can barely handle only eating 1300 calories, so 800 would have me extremely hangry for sure! My weight loss is steady, so I guess slow is okay for me as long as I get there eventually. 🤷♀️
Again, great job, you look great!2 -
That’s so kind, Thank you. Embarrassingly, predictably some of my loss has been regained. I’m currently 8 lb up on my goal. But - I’m back on track. I make peace with maintenance being a slightly bouncy journey, and maybe I will forever be losing and re-gaining 10 pounds. As long as I catch myself before it goes too far, I’m okay with that. 😊1
